is why i asked how bad was the shunt, when he was hit, how far was he shoved? that can give some indication as to how fast the cab was going when he hit him. But if it was fast enough to affect the aux, then surely it would affect something else apart from the bumper?

when you say the following morning, is this after the impact, or after the new bemper fitted?? how bad was the shunt??as the aux heater is halfway up the car underneath, and to be honest i cant see how it could be damaged in a rear shunt that only results in a bumper being replaced? only my opinion and im no mechanical genius.

sometimes radios dont like to travel very well, and..if i assume you got it from ebay, how well was it packaged? if you cant get it to work, then id send it back. your previous radio, is all thats wrong with it is that you dont have the keycode? if that is the case, it is quite simple for a ford garage to find out the code for you!

Oh God no!!..Peterhead was um......well.full of a lot of unsavories!.Nice chip shop there though ;) Bet they still have half day closeing on wednesdays.Took a while to get used to all the local holidays .i think when i first moved there, the kids didnt do a full week in school for a month or so.The school in Boddam was the best the kids have ever been to. Unst though, has lovely scenery.

if you were carting your kids around in snow and ice, wouldnt you take every precaution that you could? and not just go for the cheapest option?.

considering scotland does get very heavy snow fall( i have lived there so do know), winter tyres can be a good investment up there.also snow chains.Had to use them on the galaxy when we in Boddam as the snow would sometimes cover black ice.But also drifting snow could be a hazard.If your car couldnt get through the snow, then sometimes you were naffed in regards to supplies.You can plan ahead, but sometimes you can be caught unawares. the OP asked for advice and he got jumped on.Did any of you look to see where he was based? seen the weather reports for scotland at all?
