  1. fortunately my hands are not too big.( Makes other things look bigger!!!) I'll have a wizz sometime, nothing in manual just says consult a dealer. cheers
  2. My offside sidelight has failed. Is there an easy way to change this? Looks like you have to access it from under the wheelarch. Looks tricky
  3. When I had mine fitted, they put a booster in for me & I can get even more than with the scala unit. As you say the Kenwwod sounds much better. I have the speaker setting to the 6x4. I now have got another one for my wife's Punto. Incidently you can now have a Blaupunkt MP3 fitted by SEAT but I don't see the point when you can get something just as good & cheaper.
  4. Tried the reset, first mileage went to zero then turned on ignition still pushing down, display cleared completely, just showing word "Service" released, the after 10 secs original mieage trip reading came back. But on start-up service warning still showing??????? :o
  5. any pictures?
  6. Thinking about it when I filled up with diesel & maybe I was resetting trip while turning iginition on. I will see if it is possible to reset, if so I will do it again after next service.
  7. Turned on ignition yesterday & noticed in odometer window display had changed saying service 1800 miles. Never seen this before. Funny last service was only 6K ago surley should be a bit more. Have I enabled this indicator in some way or is it something the dealer turns on. I wonder if it happened during my air-con fix a few weeks ago. Can I turn it off?
  8. Did you get the SEAT upgrade on the SX that thye're offering 7th seat and other bits?
  9. I just used old towels under the carpet mat and put heat to floor whenever out & as much ventelation via window as poss.
  10. Looks like you've got a leak, Pilot. Get them to check the connections with the condenser & collector unit at front of car. Apparently quite hard to spot without visual inspection.
  11. Why not ask as a concerned customer if they would meet some of the cost to replacing the wiper arms to the newer style. Had a good look today at a new Alhambra in the showroom, def much more sweep, amy make some investigations on replacing mine. As I always say, no harm in asking, you may be surprised
  12. It means alot when somebody takes a bit of time there & then, normally I guess they would have said book it in & we'll rip you off. It's nice to be treated like a customer. Cheers
  13. The young tech seems knowledgeable & helpful, the attitude seemed so much better than BALLS and they seemed to have a lot of time for me today and when they did the air-con. Mind you somebody at work slated the other Man dealer in Stretford??? Preston or Crew perhaps but both a little too far May have a chat with Wayne C about doing the T-belt nearer the time. My exp with dealers with all my cars of the past, is that they're all the same. I rem with my Citroen ZX, they had charged for washer fluid at a service, so next time I filled it up before I arrived but they still charged, when i queried it the bloke threw a sachet of wash across the counter, I threw it back & made him take it off the bill as
  14. try this lpg discussions
  15. Had technician at David Cook check my engine number this morning. Confirmed that belt change was 40k miles, therefore should have been done by Bells at last service. Not sure if I would get one done FOC but wouldn't go there anyway. I quite like David Cook's , family concern & first SEAT dealership in Gtr Manchester (1985) He did say that there are some facelift models that are now 60k and I think he was refererring to latest models. Anyway he said that he was not aware of any problems, so I think I'll get it done at 50k service which is in 4k.
  16. All fixed for now, called in at David Cook at Chadderton, checked fuses without joy, so they removed the unit and re-plugged it, hey presto all OK. The nice thing is that I was there for an hour and no charge was made. :o
  17. Cheers Turbo, Had a good look at fuses, can't see any that have gone are there any under the bonnet. Mind you there's enough of them. SEAT book not the best. Had a chat with dealer said a cable may have come loose, I get the feeling the unit has bust. Calling in tomorrow for them to look. Any clues how to remove the unit if I wanted to check myself? I only just get the air-con sorted after 12 months and now I can't use it. Peeved off. <_<
  18. I think they have trouble understanding themselves
  19. I have lost electrical power to heating controls, even dash illumination on dials. The only thing that is working is fan speed control, No A/C or recirc. Dials have no response so airflow is to screen and heat is high. I presume that a fuse or 2 has gone any help appreciated. Cheers
  20. Tricky one, could be mis-understood. Arrows could be pointing to the side where the air flow comes in for fitting purposes, rather than air direction :o
  21. Just gave Hobin for quote on 50K Service,
  22. Good price too. Does Gearbox problem just common to 130's?
  23. Is there a shortage of good 3 year old+ Alhambra's on the market? I Paid
  24. Which Garage ??
  25. This problem occurs with Early Mk2's of the trio too with Banana blades. I guess they have addressed this with the revised wiper arms and straight blades. I was having a look at a new Alhambra last week and they're much better. I would like to see if I could fit the newer arms to mine as the blind spot can be a pain at times as you have to lean forward. Not sure if manufacturers would cough up. Has anybody done this?? I remember a story in the 70's, Ford Pinto I think that had a badly positioned Fuel tank and in certain accidents would explode. The Manufacturer worked out that it was cheaper to pay out compensation rather than recall all the cars.
