Why do you have no warranty when car is under 3 years old??

From my own personal experience, I think the main problem is that the dealers fail to identify the problem because they haven't got a clue and to some extent are happy to keep changing bits under warranty as they get paid for doing it. I was lucky that SEAT customer Services persued things even though the car had gone out of warranty when I eventually got it fixed.

Yesterday it was very humid here, in fact we had a storm in the afternoon. As with my chart the air temp was much cooler than of recent.

Well I worked it out for myself. Firstly I couldn't get my radio out, they had trapped the wires last time. Eventually the wires came free. Once the chassis was removed I was able to pull the cubby hole out to get my hand in the void. I realised that there is a front cover over the temp dials which clips out. I unscrewed the 4 torx screws and with a bit of effort and shove the dials came out. I removed the leads to the speed & direction dials & replugged, unit still wouldn't work. the lead to the temp dial was unusual and you had to pull this little purple lever that eased it out, on replugging unit worked. It has about 16 connections so I gave it a spray with a cleaner. Refitted every thing and radio wouldn't work. Luckily I noticed fuse 30 had blown, must have happened when wires got yanked out. :rolleyes: :rolleyes:

Thinking of getting mine fixed soon. I have located a few Webasto Service agents. I think this will be a better option than using SEAT. I'm also thinking of having a timer fitted.

A while back my temp controls & switches all packed in apart from fan control. I took it to SEAT & basically just un-plugged & all OK again, luckily they did it FOC. Obviously a bad connection so I need to do it again. Can somebody advise how to remove or get access. stuck on warm at the moment!!!

Had mine on all weekend, always have electronic thermometer to check. Was pumping out about 9c which was within range. Problem is that large glass area does make this car very warm. Here is some info I posted in an earlier thread. Hope it helps So that I can monitor my air-con performance I rang round several SEAT dealerships with various results. Eventually I managed to get a chart faxed to me with the recomended temps and test instructions. Make sure Vehicle is out of sunlight. Set blower to No 4 and dial to coolest. Close all vents apart from centre 2 face vents. Run the Engine at 2000rpm. Insert thermometer in left centre vent and engage AC. Temps should be in following range. Ambient temp Output temp 18 8-12 20 7-11 25 6-10 30 5-9 35 4.5-8.5

Had a trip to Kent to my brothers & back last week via new M6 Toll(Like it). Averaged 47mpg over 470miles. Had my 4 children on board & used air-con. Speed between 70-80. Best mpg I've ever had. Usually get average 39mpg. I would imagine I save a few drops since my Aux Heater motor failed in Jan. :o

Some tyre places offer 100% nitrogen inflation this will maintain tyre pressures. This is because over time the oxygen content of air leaks through the porus rubber compound of a tyre. This is why F1 teams & airlines use it.

I mentioned in an earlier thread that my Aux Diesel Booster heater had stopped working. Had a ring round a few SEAT dealers trying to get some info but get the usual bring it in could be many things. I'm pretty convinced that it's something simple like a fuse,sensor or the metering pump. Can anybody with a TIS advise where the sensors are located and are they for the booster alone. Any idea's on what else it could be would be appreciated. Want to save my money for Cambelt change.

I think Colchester make limo's etc. My sister-in-law how has 5 kids bought a MK1 Granada from a Funeral director a number of years ago that had been stretched and had extra seats. They used to get some funny looks.

Drove to work about an hour ago, only 4 degs. Turned radio off to listen for kick-in. No luck. I'll mention it at next service, although it may be too warm to test. Saying that it will probably work as it warms up over the next few days

After all this recent talk has made me realise that mine hasn't been kicking in. It has been cold enough, has always been quite reliable in the past. Anything I can have a look at to check out. Fuses etc? :unsure:

I get a little smoke to start but nothing excessive. I wonder if it had anything to do with the brand of Diesel that you use.

Just had a measure on my Alhambra S for comparison. I have approx 8" at back & 7" at front from bottom of mudflap to floor. My tyre size is 205/15 60.

Out of interest, cabin filters were half price in halfrauds

Changed the bulb & still didn't work, found fuse 57 had blown too. Another trip to Halfrauds

Managed to get bulb out last night, top of my left hand's a bit scratched. Had a look at indicator one too out of curiosity. Took ages to get back in. Ouch. A bigger hole would be a good idea.

When learning to drive, I was always told by my instructor to pull without the button so that the examiner could hear that I had applied the handbrake

I fitted some Ford ones that were sent to me from an Ex-member. SEAT fitted them for me when I had the air-con fixed. I had a look at a colleagues 130 & they looked the same, although the car is a tad lower. Have they been fitted properly?

Got one on mine, gets loads of stations. Did they tell you what was wrong with the Kenwood? All my friends & family all want MP3 units now. I download all sorts of stuff from the Net. I love getting all the old TV themes like trumpton etc. Brings back loads of memories.
