I thought trucks greater than 7.5T ( laden weight ) had always been banned from the fast lane and vehicle under 7.5T had always been allowed in it. Also trailers have never been allowed in the fast lane, although cars with trailers seem to ignore this ( and the speed limit ). I didn't know it had changed !

I think a poll could be required ?

My drivers side ball joint went last week. Will be trying the economy repair ( laggy band ), let you know how I get on. Nope and I think all the other MK1 owners will disagree as well. Reduce speed ....turn off cruise control and reset it when at lower speed ! That will be 30Kmph not mph, they work from around 20mph/30Kmph ( assuming your not doing 20mph and going uphill in 5th...we know who does that dont we.....)

I bought a similar set from ebay. It came with a screw in plug for the drivers side ( screws into the main carpet underneath ) works extremely well never moved even a millimetre. However the drivers side heel reinforcement is pretty crap and only lasted a few months before it was worn through. Other mats are still imaculate. Excellent fit though especially the front pair.

I had exactly the same problem.....your key is knackered. Get a replacement ( or use a known working one from a kind person with a similar Shalaxy ). Try the programming sequence agin and it will work.

From the A43 I would cut accross country to Gloucester and pick up the M5 will save you about a good half an hour, possibly an hour ! The A303 is very iffy at best you could be stuck in traffic for ages. Have your breakfast at Gloucester and picnic nearer to Exeter. Just a suggestion....
