Headlight Adjustment For Europe
big_kev replied to yozzer61's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Would advise to get rid and buy a left hand drive model. You won't have the problem with the lights. An added bonus is that you will be able to turn left without killing anyone. -
Sounds like a knackered battery to me :(

Vagcom should be able to reset the airbag light. The port is under the ashtray....take out ashtray and holder. -

Vag-com And Windows Vista

You running the correct drivers , if its an ftdi chipset ( 99% of them are ) then try downloading the correct Virtual Com. Port ones from the manufacturer. http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm Also make sure that you install vagcom in admin mode and ideally to its own directory on the C: drive. Do not install it into the Program Files folder as Vista is paranoid about programs running in this and will prevent them from making any changes. Again run the program in admin mode....winxp or win98 compatibility shouldn't be necessary but won't do any harm. As mentioned before check the Com port number assigned by windows. Failing this try using Vagcom 3.11 as it is more stable than 4.09. ( Mk1 owners may have problems accessing 09 Central Electronics using this. ) -
Vag-com And Windows Vista

You running Vista greggy ? -
Would have thought this to be directly fuel related ( injector pump, maybe ? ) as almost anything else would flag up a fault.
-
Most drivers who weren't trying to squeeze out 56 MPG would have got there earlier and been ok .

Vag-com And Windows Vista

Are you sure that you have the right port allocated. Go into Device Manager and check which port your usb/serial adapter is using. Most likely it will be using port 5 or higher ( dependant upon the mood vista is in, it could be anything ). If so change this port number to 3 ( or anything 4 or below that windows doesn't object to ). Then use this port in vagcom and all should be fine. -
Heater Blower Switch

It is most likely to be the resistor.....easily available from scrappy or ebay. Fix this first before aircon. Aircon fault could be a number of things from simple top up to complete system replacement. Most places will do a free vacuum test first to identify if there are any leaks. -
The badges can vary ( depends on the mood the ford fitter was in ! ). It will have the correct engine on the Cambelt Cover. or PM me your reg and I should be able to tell you for sure.

This only applies if you have a B licence only. If you have a B+E ( you passed your test before 1997 ) then there is no ratio which applies between the towing vehicle and the trailer. The maximum towing weight is stipulated by the manufacturer. Although a maximum train weight of 8.5 tons may still apply. For example many 4x4 vehicles are plated by the manufacturer to tow trailers well in excess of the vehicle maximum weight.

Exterior Warning Light On
big_kev replied to Sammie's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
If you invest in vagcom ( diagnostics software ) it will tell you which bulb the fault is on. It could also be the rear wiring breaking doen as it passes into the tailgate. -
You still need to clear the fault first to make sure......this fault code have been from a while ago and may misdirect you......the fault could be something entirely different. However if it does immediately come back then it will certainly be a major cause for concern.

Does the remote key still open and start the car manually ? If so then all you need is the remote section of the key which can easily be obtained and programmed yourself in under a minute. Loads ( new and used ) on ebay etc.

Are the wires reversed on one of the switches....ie has someone taken the switch out at sometime and put the wires back on wrong ?
-
Is it an historic fault.....just clear it and hopefully it will go away.
