  1. Tyre pressure should be around 48 to 50 psi dependant upon tyre type and load.
  2. It sounds like under inflation. What pressure do you have in the rear tyres......bearing in mind you are fully laden with a caravan on the back. Don't know the pressure for the Mk3 but would think it would be at least 40psi.
  3. Most women drive through puddles quickly as they don't want to get stuck in the middle. Don't believe her....my wife lies to me all the time. Hopefully just the air filter has been drowned. Your water level may have already been low and likely has no bearing on the matter.
  4. I would have thought that there was definitely something wrong with cylinder 1. Possibly faulty injector or damaged/worn cam.
  5. I thought that at first....and then I thought... No .......he's just a nutter ;)
  6. Loads of galaxys being broken on ebay ! I am sure there are loads of black Mk2's in there ;)
  7. Hey Dingo ! This is the year 2010 ........ Why are you answering questions from 2009 ? ;)
  8. It was mentioned previously.....although admitedly not answered.
  9. No ! The chip means that the key will work in the ignition ( assuming cut correctly.....nearly all locksmiths do this....quite cheaply ). For the remote to work you have to program it to the car. see link below http://www.fordgalaxy.org.uk/ford/index.php?showtopic=1485
  10. Proper solid one..... :)
  11. You can test to see if you have an alarm by opening the drivers door....pushing in the door switch near the hinges....so that the vehicle thinks the door is closed and then locking it with the remote.....or key if you have long arms or a friend. Then when you let the button go the alarm should sound. Also if you look at the control box under the passenger seat there should be 3 leads connected to it rather than just 1 or 2 ...( not 100% on this though).
  12. 41.4 mpg is pretty much what you would expect for this journey. 21.8 mpg seems a bit low . However this could still be correct depending upon actual time spent with engine running.
  13. It is possible that the remote is faulty. Easiest way to check is with a known good remote, borrow a friends or obtain one. Ignore any issues about the PATS chip as this has nothing to do with the remote locking it only affects the anti theft system......ie works the ignition switch.
  14. The transponders are little chips inside the keys. See link below http://www.fordgalaxy.org.uk/ford/index.php?showtopic=19743
  15. This is a Mk3 isn't it ?
  16. Go get a key yourself from scrappy or ebay.....dead easy to program. A half decent locksmith should be able to program the transponder chip for you. Or you could just nick the one out of your ordinary type key. If you have 2 existing keys you can program the transponder yourself. All this assumes that you have existing remote locking on your vehicle and are just missing the key.
  17. It allows you to reply "without quoting" and still viewing the entire message. Click it and find out !
  18. Surely thats what I said, if you click the "reply" button at the bottom right of the individual message it quotes the entire message. Wheras if they click the "add reply" button at the bottom right of the page it doesn't quote the message. Which is what I clicked to reply in this instance. See picture below.
  19. You mean that people should not click the "reply" button but should use the "add reply" button at the bottom instead.
  20. Handy tip .......... :16:
  21. Andy, You don't happen to be part of that company do you ? As all of your posts seem to promote them ?
  22. Looks nice.....anyone want to buy me one ? :16:
  23. It sounds like there is no connection from the alternator to the battery. Check all connections again....especially the earth at both the battery and alternator.
