Climate Control Problems With Manual A/c
big_kev replied to eddy72's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Could be a bad earth. Might be worth checking fuses.....can't remember exact ones for your model. Try F18 to F23.....or somewhere around there. Can you confrim that part number.....seems a bit weird ? -
410 quid for totally unnecesary work........this is ford were talking about. You sounded surprised ?
-
17965 points to the turbo......I would first check all associated piping and tubes to make sure none of them are damaged/ loose. 17552 may just be a log of the fact that the MAF had not been working at some time....obviously when it was disconnected....try clearing it and see if it comes back

A certain number of keys refers to the immobiliser (PATS) has whatsoever to do with remote locking . And its only 2 keys required not 3. Yours is an early model is it the infra-red remote or the radio type keys ? ie....what does it have written on the key.....Mhz etc.
-
I think you have been robbed by Fords.....which is all too common. You only need 1 key .......its nice to have a spare though for obvious reasons. There could be a number of reasons why the light in the drivers door does not enter programming mode, some of which are related to the Control Unit and some which are not. Can you confirm that ordinary central locking works using the key in the door method. And can you also confirm that the door led works otherwise ok (apart from programming mode )

Yep......either badly fitted or dodgy belt.

I think the worry is that they usually fail just after being replaced......

Problem With Parking Sensors
big_kev replied to andyd's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
From the owners manual...... A system fault will be indicated via a tone when activated for the first time and by the warning lamp flashing in the button. Switch the system off at the button and have it checked by a qualified dealership as soon as possible. If you have access to Vagcom you should be able to do the diagnostics yourself assuming you have given up with the bodyshop. -
Did you forget any of your pills this morning ?

Losing Power Or Something Stopping Me
big_kev replied to ag-1982's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Welcome to the forum. Can you let us know the year and model....Tdi , 2.0l etc. -
When does the smoking occur if its still smoking 3 minutes after starting up ( assuming cold engine and outside temp low enough ) then it is definitely a fuel/air problem. Check that the units exhaust isnt blocked or damaged ( ie not flattened or kinked ) would be the first step.
-
I wouldn't think that the smoking is down to the glowplug. The glowplug is only operational for a few moments ( will try and remember how long this is ). After this the heater runs without the glowplug. Excessive smoke is a symptom of a fuel/air problem. Could be the fuel pump is dodgy or the air intake is blocked. Or the combustion chamber is coked up.

2001 Galaxy Abs Light Bulb Change
big_kev replied to shazam's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
I would have thought that the light would come on when the ignition is turned on ? Last time I seen a similar request to this was for removing the ABS light not for reparing it. If by some chance it has failed then well done.....its more likely to pass an mot when your ABS goes dodgy...which it will. -
Thats a bit heavy for a Galaxy to tow safely isn't it ? Think it may be illegal on the length as well ( over 7 metres ).

Heater Smoking (excessive!)
big_kev replied to Laurie's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Phone them up again and tell them there is a problem with a part of cooling system. Ask if all the cooling system is covered. Might pay to pull the fuse in the meantime to stop the smoking.......keep the wife happy. -
Ok......low on Automatic Transmission Fluid.....to the relevant spec. Mr Picky :P

It may just be low on oil !

The holes are probably already there. The thread below may help......or do a search for roof rails http://www.fordgalaxy.org.uk/ford/index.php?showtopic=5036

Electric Window Motors
big_kev replied to jim_69's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
A different part number is shown for all four door windows. So I would think they are not changeable. -
You may have more than 1 faulty sensor. Easy to identify with a multimeter (usually) or even more easily using Vagcom ( won't speak to your Ford engine ) but will communicate with the other control units including ABS. Will also identify if the ABS fault is something other than the sensors.
