  1. SPAL ......! Is this an aftermarket fitted central locking thingy ?
  2. Hi Jo, What's the spec of your Gal......2.0l GLX, 1.9 Ghia.... etc
  3. Yes but they are quality posts, Well done SwFsnapper ( don't think thats his real name ! )
  4. One suspects he may have said something to one of the officers ?
  5. Are you sure the problem is with vagcom ? If your running it as Admin ( xp compatibility mode may help ) Vista has major issues with usb to serial adapters and this is more likely to be the problem. It took me ages to find a driver for mine that Vista was reasonably happy with. It keeps losing the serial port and this really upsets Vagcom ( same as if you unplug it while its talking to the ECU ).
  6. Go onto ebay.co.uk and type Vagcom in the search. This will bring up a whole host of cables etc. Go to www.ross-tech.com and you will find information on the vagcom software. Including a free basic download version.
  7. Well done Gregers and many happy returns.
  8. Easier and cheaper for his mum to wear 2 Inch heels
  9. Easiest way is to drop an email to the seller, this then gives you some comeback if it doesn't work. This example (first one on the search in ebay) http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=230335003811 ://http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI....m=230335003811 should be fine, there are hundreds of others, shop around. The basic software is free to download from www.ross-tech.com
  10. My wife says.....how many cans of Sweetheart Stout will it hold ?
  11. It is a VW part so yes it should fit. However there are several variants and you will need to make sure you get the same. This would also apply to a fusebox from another Galaxy ( or Sharan, or Alhambra ).
  12. Flashing air-con unit indicates a fault with the system. Most likely low gas pressure ( as your air-con doesn't work ). However could be a number of other trivial air-con related faults ( stuck flap etc ).
  13. Could be a blown fuse or more likely a faulty resistor pack. ( behind lower glove box ) Do you have Automatic or manual air-con ( dials for fan speed etc ).
  14. I think first you need to aquire some taste in music
  15. Confused by both these pics.....ok I do look at the left one more......but still no idea on the right one. Has the baby finally flipped ?
  16. WTF ?
  17. According to the Ford handbook, 215/60x15 tyres on the Galaxy do not need to be reinforced According to my handbook there is no mention of any requirement for reinforced tyres at all. But there again.....the handbook is full of errors. The tyre pressures specified by Ford are also much lower for this tyre size, 34-37psi at the front, and 31-40psi at the rear You would still need reinforced tyres for 40psi......also most people are unaware that this is a minimum pressure....under full load your rear tyres would need a minimum of 40psi . For safety this should be several psi more ( cold ! .....it will increase when hot ) Load index is the critical factor Never said it wasn't Personally, I would trust the vehicle manufacturer's specification - check the handbook So would I.......what do VW say then ? But reinforced RF or XL tyres are not necessarily of different construction to standard tyres I assume that this was a typo and you meant "colour" not "construction".
  18. I would suggest using a reputable tyre fitter that knows what he is doing. Reinforced tyres will be marked as such on the sidewalls ( either RF , XL or Reinforced ). Do not confuse this with the Load Index as they are not the same. The tyres on the Galaxy are designed to be capable to run with over 45 psi of pressure in them and as such the sidewalls need to be reinforced with additional plys. The use of non-reinforced tyres may lead to catastrophic failure of the tyre walls when cornering, regardless of the load rating.
  19. Has this ever worked on this vehicle ? It may not have been enabled on the Control Unit.
  20. Plug the front in ( you may have to squeeze the bars behind it ...its obvious ) also you may have to slide your middle seats forward to make it easier. As you push the back of the seat to the floor ( be brutal ! ) the rear mounting will move into position to engage the brackets in the floor. If in doubt try looking at any of the other rear or middle seats.
  21. Still look better in black :)
  22. Can I just say it wasn't me this time :)
  23. Good point.....maybe I was a bit extreme !
  24. Still awaiting the pics of Fat Lucy 2 .....in your own time pet
