  1. Its a Mondeo .....
  2. Looking at the original post it looks like he was complaining about the forum removing the pictures ( even though it wasn't ) and this is why he was upset. Maybe I was wrong but hopefully he is gentlemanly enough to reply.
  3. Well I thought your recent posts and pictures were excellent and would most likely be very helpful. I think the problem was that the pictures disappeared before most people had seen them otherwise you may have had people responding to them. You are still most welcome on this forum. Ignore the comments from the riff-raff. However a little bit of tact and diplomacy might have helped rather than diving straight in with the insults. Please feel free to continue posting and if you can restore the missing pictures they would be most welcome. Best regards kev
  4. Cheque's in the post pet !
  5. Damn ......I was too late again !
  6. I thought the reason they dropped it from 60k to 40k was that a few cam belts popped ! Then after they started servicing at 40k even more cam belts popped ( due to being fitted wrong ). So they stuck it back up to 60k where it belongs. Could be wrong on this though
  7. You forgot about that
  8. Yep, the problem is at the photobucket end .....the clue is in "moved or deleted"....although possibly renamed as well. It was a very nice useful set of pictures which is much appreciated....although a little frightening for some of our older members !......good work. Pretty accurate description of most of our forum members though... Once you fix it you would be best to post an apology to our Admin because she don't forget such things.......(unless its that time of the month ! ). Don't worry about slagging of the forum.....it happens...we've all done it....some more than others.
  9. Your not a granny ......are you ?... :o
  10. A couple of points which may be relevant ( or may not ! ). The caravan/trailer must be less than 7m in length. The MAM of the caravan ( as plated on the caravan) must be less than the unladen weight of the towing vehicle ( not plated on the vehicle but assumed to be 1730kg for a Galaxy....bit more for high spec Auto )....the 85% guideline applies to the vehicle unladen weight ( you can't load it up to make it heavier ! ). However my MK1 Galaxy is rated to tow up to 1530kg.....maximum train weight minus maximum laden weight of vehicle. And you must have passed your test before 1992 (ish).
  11. Fuse 10, Relay 10, Bulb (dodgy connection)......not 100% if the fuse/relay numbers are correct for your model. Best bet is to get your multimeter out and find out where the fault is. Also double check your wiring loom.
  12. Milton's Fluid works fine. p.s. don't use the cheapo halfrauds washer fluid as it stinks after a while and takes ages to get rid of the smell.
  13. Everything all right then Pet ?
  14. Yeh.....he broke it again.....didn't he ;)
  15. 40 mpg for a petrol at 50mph is possible but does seem a bit high, I would have thought this would be dragged down on any urban parts of the route. 36 mpg is very unlikely if you have been doing 70mph though. Only way to be sure is to brim the tank with petrol , use it and then brim it again and work out what you actually used.
  16. Come back and let us know how many faults come up !
  17. Yes it is likely when you fitted the radio yoiu disturbed the connections on the back of the a/c controls.......I am assuming that the radio was astraight plug in and you didn't play with any of the wiring. Should be easy enough to have a look and check that they are all still fully connected.
  18. Sounds like the single switch then if it has 4 wires. Worth getting VagCom as its cheap ( usb cables all over Ebay ) and the software is free from Ross-tech.Com It will allow you to check what faults are on the vehicle a lot easier than trial and error.
  19. Probably not as it is likely to have caused valve, cylinder head and possible piston damage. If you are capable of repairing it yourself then it may be worthwhile. I believe yours is a 98 and you may be better of breaking it and putting the money towards a newer one.
  20. It sounds like you may have a wiring problem, check the condition of the wires as they pass through the body into the tailgate.....rubber gaiter offside top of tailgate.
  21. Hi Andy, First of all which part of the world are you in.....your profile says Scotland....but this is the default and not everyone changes it.....there may be someone local to you with vagcom, who can help. Secondly do you only have 1 brake switch ?.....some models have 2 .
  22. So are the ones in mine......every 11 years.....just about due ..
  23. Lets see how happy he is when he tries to get the bolts out
  24. That'll be why it won't start then :D Failing that it sounds like either an immobiliser problem ( maybe twitchy relay ).
  25. What else have you been doing......changed remote battery ? Are you sure it has fuel to the injectors......( surely if it did it would start )?
