  1. The Glow Plug light also doubles as the engine management light ! There are 2 switches on the brake pedal one for working your brake lights and one to tell the engine management that you have your foot on the brake. This can seriously screw with your engine performance. Check that you either have 2 independant switches above the brake pedal and both are working correctly.....hold the brake pedal to the floor ( engine running helps ) pull very very very hard down on the plungers until both are at their full extent and let go of the pedal ( the plungers will self adjust ). If you only have 1 switch above the brake pedal make sure that all the wires are connected and check the plunger as well. Hopefull it is that simple.
  2. Some more info HERE !!! complete with usual bitching and mudslinging
  3. Very nice ;)
  4. Sorry, Captain Mainwaring... ;)
  5. Aye ! its cold up north then.
  6. Apologies.....I'm talking rubbish....again ! These figures are for the booster heater......it was on my mind at the time. Please ignore me ! I will go away now and hang my head in shame.. ;)
  7. I believe the figure is either 5 or 10 degrees dependant upon the model. Can't think why you would want to blow cold air below this temperature.
  8. I would consider the 1.8l Diesel as well. If you look at the difference in fuel economy the compared to the petrol engine the 1.8l diesel will save you around
  9. Sorry....touch of Clairvoyance ..... :D
  10. Nasty ..... :D
  11. It appears to be a battery problem. It takes a lot of battery power to turn over a Diesel, yours is a bit on the small size and could have been damaged with continual use. Only way to be sure is to try a suitable replacement battery from a similar diesel vehicle.
  12. I would check the obvious first......gearbox oil level ! Also have you had the car very long ?
  13. Happy Birthday pet . x x x :D
  14. It can not learn how you drive.......if mine could it would most likely get a gun and shoot me ! There does seem to be a fault however with your autobox or its controller.
  15. Make sure you know whether the hard drive is SATA or PATA as this will determine the replacement case you require.
  16. Don't be shy !
  17. The tyres are under inflated hence the wear, remember the recommended pressures are a minimum. Also the tyre pressure is dependent upon the vehicle not the make or model of tyre, its the air pressure that the vehicle sits upon, this doesn't change if you use a different set of tyres. And lastly as mentioned incorrect use of power steering ( when stationery ) will vastly reduce the life of your tyres.
  18. Thankyou my friend!!! You are a true legend. Will you marry me?? Sadly, being already enslaved....I will have to refuse your kind offer. Try asking mk2vr6..... ( I know he's desperate enough)
  19. Thanks, for the reply, but when I click the link it opens up an adobe window which tells me "The file is damaged and could not be repaired." Gutted  Try right click.......and save as.......to your desktop ( or wherever ). You may need Acrobat Reader 8.1 or later ( current version is 9.0 )
  20. Pdf Version Below http://www.vrstamps.com/stuff/Galaxy/Ford%...k1%20Manual.pdf Get it quick .......it will dissapear agin in a week.
  21. Hi Jon, Welcome to the forum. You need to pop your details up so we now whether its a diesel, petrol and MK1 or Mk2 variant. If its a diesel then the usual trouble is the brake/clutch switches, if its a petrol then its a bit more complicated. It is unlikely that there is any indication light for cruise control on your vehicle as this only appeared on the later models ( not 100% on this.....check to see if the lamp appears when you first turn on your ignition as it does a bulb check ! ).
  22. 150 quid ! My gals not worth that
  23. If its not the fuse then check the resistor. Easily found behind the glovebox ( which is removable without tools ). The fan is also there as well and easily accesable. If the fault is the resistor then check it is not just the connections burnt out, as replacing the rsistor will only lead to them burning out again. If you have auto air con then substitute "hedgehog" for resistor.
  24. Nope........this is rubbish as well.
  25. He does not have a clue.......it is not a dual system.
