  1. You could send it to Glen :16:
  2. Don't dispute what you say but first one I've heard of with diff problems and the symptoms your describing don't sound like diff either. Be sure get a second opinion before splashing out on gearboxes. As I said the CV joints are a common problem, another thing that would give you shuddering shaking vibration is the duel mass flywheel.
  3. Probably inner cv joints knackered.
  4. Was this A genuine MAF or one of those thirty quid ones on ebay, from experience they are worse than the one your replacing is it a pierburg or bosch.
  5. Unplug the MAF sensor then drive the car, see if it makes it worse then recheck for fault codes as it should have registered a fault.
  6. Turbo flutter noise when releasing the throttle after accelerating/pulling. The noise you hear reverberates inside the air intake in certain situations, nothing to worry about.
  7. The Ford 2.0 petrol in the galaxy is noted as being pretty gutless, which engine did you have in the Sharan.
  8. Am a bit puzzled Dave you've bought a spare wheel but you keep it in the garage,am I missing something here :16:
  9. To be honest pressure testing at idle is a bit inconclusive when the pressure build up occurs it's when hot and under heavy load, town driving you wouldn't think there is anything wrong. Have not tried getting the restrictor back in the pipe but you could try using washing up liquid as a lubricant without harming the pipe. Once refitted with all the levels correct take the car for a hard drive while keeping a check on the heater and temp gauge but more importantly when you stop check the level of coolant in the bottle if it's disappeared or evidence of being blown out through the cap then you have HG problems.
  10. If the cooling system is clean the restrictor is usually fine, the reason it's there is to allow a small amount of coolant and aeration to return to the bottle if the car has overheated and boiled numerous times and probably run on plain water sediment will be loosened up and carried around the system. Don't want to put a downer on things but I would guess you have early stages of head gasket failure, time will tell. If you don't replace the restrictor the coolant will follow the route of least resistance, in this case back to the bottle instead of through the radiator.
  11. LOL you know how professional lorry drivers are we had arrows for downshift aswell on our old DAF's
  12. What that means is change up a gear it's on page 87 in my handbook
  13. Has your's had the software update.
  14. No it's not a quick or easy job
  15. If it's cambelt or tensioner failure then you will certainly have damage to valve train and possibly piston damage. Cylinder head will need removing to inspect damage. How much mileage done since last belt change?
  16. If yours is the same as mine with the side light with the fog light, I changed my O/S side light bulb by undoing the wheel arch liner and getting in behind the lamp, it's still fiddly but do able. It says in the book to pull the down and forward to remove but didn't work for me.
  17. One of these. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VAG-GROUP-USB-COM-PORT-OBD2-II-KKL-ECU-DIAGNOSTIC-CABLE-LEAD-WORK-VCDS-LITE-409-/271036790042?pt=UK_Diagnostic_Tools_Equipment&hash=item3f1b0d351a
  18. Bloody foreigner's what are they talking about :16: :16: :16:
  19. May be worth checking glow plugs as one not working will cause rough running when cold.
  20. Scan engine module with VCDS lite if you have intermittent injector/wiring fault it will leave a fault code on that cylinder
  21. Have you looked behind the front plastic wheel arch liners, remove the lower screws that keep the liner in place pull liner out from behind the wing, see all the mud and debris packed into the lower area. Wash this away then check that area for rot and corrosion which could lead back into the car floor area.
  22. Unable to upload pics on here due to site problem, vehicle speed sensor is at the rear of the box above driveshaft
  23. Hi Stujay54 Have heard this one mentioned before but not come across it myself is it possible you can put a picture on here of the said area. :)
