dumpie "SOLD email with a phone number an ill phone ya 2morra let ya no wen u can fetch em....................... " Who to??

He means the side where the rear heating / air con stuff is. There is not enough space to fit an armrest. Hence that seat just has the armrest in the centre. The other seat (next to the rear cubby hole where the cd changer fits, is fine - it has both armrests.

As Ivor says: - "I'm interested if the price is right" - me too!

DJN The standard changer is a six disc and fits in the OSR cubby hole / armrest.

DJN I have fitted a Sony Ericsson HCB-30 Bluetooth car kit to my galaxy and the sound is integrated through the unit. The whole set up is really great and works well. All you see is a mic on the headlining console and a multi switch that has been installed on the floor console. When a call rings or a call is made, the sat nav/radio mutes and indicates a call (PHONE) on both the sat nav display and the centre instrument display. If voice tags are stored and activated (as are on mine), the caller name will be sounded too. The ford kit cannot compete with it and is very much more expensive. If I get a moment later, I might take a couple of pics to show the install.

The problem is that Ford just don't know anything!! The satnav RNS 4 unit used in galaxies is made by vw audi group. Therefore, the cable and changer will need to be from vw audi! I have seen some on sale on Ebay on occasions. Or alternatively (as suggested elsewhere on the forum) you could go for a 3rd party changer like sony and use an interface box that will convert the vw / audi connection on the back of the RNS 4 to a sony unilink!

If you wish to use a PS one then you will need a simple car adaptor but for a PS 2, you will need an inverter because it is designed to work at 220 - 230 volts. If you wish to hardwire a PS2 permanently into your galaxy, you can get an inverter board that fits inside the PS2 body and will step the voltage up from 12 to 220-230.

Glad to hear that you're OK - Galaxy can be replaced.... Hope the occupants of the golf are ok too....

A six seater that I saw at a garage once, did not appear to have all the 'holes in the floor' But if you can sort it out and the seats happen to be in anthracite leather, then I'll swap two of my non armrested seats for two of your armrested ones!!

Climate Control Too Damned Fiddly
Dally replied to Taliska's topic in What thing irritate you about your Galaxy
I can set lower temperatures in the back by about 3 degrees less than the front but that is, as Ivor says, because I have dual aircon. The dual aircon has a separate evaporator core at the back fed by refridgerent thus enabling a temperature gradient between front and back. This is not possible with non dual aircon vehicles as there is no means to cool the air at the back. -

Seatkid It's obvious to us - the damn things been fitted t he wrong way round!! (note air flow indicators - dirty side should be the opposite one if installed correctly) -
Michelins are well known for hard wearing but I'd give them up for the more supple and quiet Dunlop 2020's!
-
FYI copy of a previous post: "My 2002 2.3 ran on the Dunlops - reasonably quiet they were. My 2003 V6 has got Michelin Pilots on and they create much more noise! Haven't seen many Galaxy's with these on (Oh Why Ford?). Is it because it's a V6?? PS They cost alot more than the 2020's too! "

Agree with Ivor. I always leave it on auto. Only ever had to use demist on a couple of occasions in the last six months or so. I think it works really well left alone on auto - 22 or 23 degrees. -
Howard Auto dimming mirror too. In fact most of all the external trim changes ie the chrome grill, the chrome inserts etc are all only on the ghia versions!!

Andy It is expensive on fuel - there's no doubt about that and I'm sure that it'll be expensive to maintain long term too. So far it's been back for several niggly things like trim, wind noise from drivers side and one big problem - it had to have a new autobox (not bad for a 7 month old car eh?) which the garafe told me will cost ford around 3 grand. But on the positive side, the drive is great, very little loss of power will a full complement of seven adult passengers and it's a good all round spec. I have no regrets and whilst sports car and mpv might not share the same side of a coin, I don't think they have to be mutually exclusive either. I think the balance is well founded (but would be even better with improved mpg - I'm getting about 230 miles on 50 quid!) It's having a positive influence on me in that I've slowed down to try and retain some level of sane mpg - that can't be a bad thing!

Andyr75 The below item is for sale on German ebay under the sharan category. It may therefore fit. If you need to know the exact aperture of the RNS4 sat nav then iI can measure mine for you - let me know. http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewIt...&category=38778

It's not a matter of just a lead. The sat nav tft screen runs on digital signal. What you get for your

V6 Galaxy, Did you manage to fit your roof mount screen? I have looked into this but am struggling to fit a roof mount because of the dual air con vents in the roof. Your experiences or anyone elses will be most welcome.

With the Ford Galaxies, there are two types of traction control. The first is the one comes part of the ESP system - this is standard on the V6 and I assume if any Galaxy is fitted with this option, it will have the traction control. This is a sophisticated poece of kit in that it controls both throttle and abs module to do its tricks. The second is a less sophisticated traction control system called Brake Trcation control system. with this kit it uses just the brakes to control the slip that occurs when traction is lost. BUT this kit is only available on the 2.3 DOHC petro; engine. Hope that helps grifjl

New Galaxy now comes with two remote keys - in Ghia guise only though!
