I don't think it can be located on the roof in any reasonable place if you have dual aircon. You'll see that the ideal place to locate a screen on the ceiling has the 'hump' that accomodates the rear vents. You will end up with it being too far forward or too far rearwards - that's my opinion from when I had a go.

I have a 2003 V6 Auto and love it to bits even though it costs a bomb to run. I also regualrly drive my Sisters 2005 model 130 ps diesel galaxy too and love it for the mpg but loathe it for it's lack of refinement and lack of power (and there is a considerable difference). So what does this say... Horses for courses - don't deal with absolutes!

Once a pathway has been found, tape one end of the cable to the hanger and feed it through. 8. Trail wires accordingly and use cable yies to fix to the bottom of the seat using a channel taking the wires to the underside of the seat. 9. Fit the guide back - you can just push thsi down and let the fabric flex to accomodate the cable under the guide or you may wish to cut out a hole. 10. Roll down the seat cover and reclip the ties at the bottom - this is a real b*****d to do - it took two of us a lot of time to snap these back in. 11. You will need to take extra care if you have seat heaters - watch out for the heat pads in both the backrest and the seat pad. No liability accepted. Good luck!

The non sat nav supplied version of the galaxy ghia will not have the right display on your dash to be able to give you the images you indicate. I have factory fit sat nav in my galaxy and the information display is da ifferent dot matrix display fitted in the factory along with the sat nav. Whether this can be fitted retrospectively, I don't know. But it is little things like this display in the dash that makes the factory fit satnav solution that much more useable.

You wouldn't happen to know if it's possible to fit one of these on the factory fit sat nav unit on a mk2?

your looking at the home grown stuff :D take a good look at the import mpv's especially the japanese stuff :D it kocks spots off the home grown stuff! and the spec on most of them would kill the Galaxy in the show rooms :) I agree with you to a certain extent. The American stuff really is awful looking and horrible to drive - my brother in law works as a senior manager at GM and has had about 5 different top of the range GM vehicles over the last 3 weeks and all of them were awful to look at and awful to drive. Tha japanese stuff is much better but a friend has a sienna and on closer inspection it too lacks the finesse of japanese stuff you would get in europe - the previa as sold in the UK was a far better looking and able vehicle then the sienna. I come here regularly and have access to a number of vehicles and find I am very dissappointed. I just don't know how they do it but the yanks even make good looking cars like BMWs look awful - maybe it's those silly looking number plates and the additional bits of chrome that seems so misplaced......

I'm on hols in USA at the moment and would do anything to see something anywhere near as smart as a galaxy or other european MPV. The yanks really do have to get their act together as far as design and driveability goes all the mpvs here look dire. The Crysler voyager and it's derivatives are about the best you can get out here. Have to agree about the aircon though - they do tend to fit industrial strength ac units!

My Wife has a 510 that we use in her fiesta (with a heated windscreen) and it works fine but we tend to mount it right next to the A pillar where there are less wires. I have tried this out in my galaxy on a couple of occassions and it seemed fine too.

Mikej I got Car Audio Center in Nottingham to fit some in mine. They used the original doughnut types, butchered them and refabricated them using leather that matches the original.

If you have factory fit sat nav, take it out - the bezel around the CC panel can be pulled off from the top edge. Its not stuck in too tight. I don't know about non sat nav facias but guess that blu tac stuck to the bezel may just give enough stick to be able to pull it off as there seems to be no locking tangs on it.

Been there and done it. Ford don't give a sh.t. Since I bought my v6, I have had a random misfire on acceleration - happens once a month may be but doesn't show up as a fault. I also get a little vibration and harshness at around 1100 rpm - a local vw specialist (C&R enterprises) told me to change all 6 plugs and all 6 coil packs. I took all this information and the USA recall reports to Ford but they just did not care. I gave up in 2004 and have put up with it since then. I did think about changing them last month when it had it's 30,000 mile service - I thought the plugs would be changed in the service and I'd cough up the additional

If you want a genuine fitting cd changer, you need to pay a visit to your local VW or Audi parts department for a compatible CD changer. OR, you could buy an after market cd changer (eg SONY) with an interface box.

johnb80 It wasn't just the feeling of colder air, there was an actual difference it temperature. I measured this with a probe thermometer with both cars at some point and on hotter sunnier days, the air was always several degrees lower on the LO setting.

I'm going to confuse you guys. I've just had a 3 year service last week and told them that last summer the a/c wasn't putting out cold air like it used to. They said gas was low but no leaks found - they have re-gassed it but said that you will not be able to feel the effects until you get a good hot sunny day because even in the LO setting, the sun load sensor on the dash may not allow full cooling if it does not register high sunlight etc. This concurs with previous info from a vw dealership who said that the system is set to cycle the compressor least that it needs to. It will only cycle at maximum when the ambient temperature hits predetermined levels. This has been borne out in my experience with both my galaxies - the cooling effect is much greater on warmer and sunnier days.

MO4 As someone has said earlier, in the 3rd row, on the cd changer side, you will be able to fit a seat with armrests on both sides, however, on the heater compartment side, the chair can have only one armrest only (in the centre) - that is how the six seater is configured.

mumof4 All mk 2s are 1.5 Din as VR6 says unless you had factory fit satnav in which case you have a different facia plate that makes it double din. I don't know about the 7000 unit but most ford ICE equipment has tended to be 1.5 din. IIRC - means If I recall correctly IIRC of course..

I tried and it was impossible to find a suitable location because of the vents. Headrests it was.
