I have been having a play with Vag com and I have some more questions. How do I get live data from Vag Scope.Does the engine need to be switched on or just up to normal running temperatue? How do you save this data and does it just store each individual trip i.e from turning on the engine to stopping it ? OBD-11? What can we find here ?? I found mainly emmissions info but nothing much more !!! And remember guys keep your answers "simple" (easy !!!) I am new to this Vag com malarky and am ever so cautious as i am scared I might F**k something up !!LOL Paul

Checked the owners manual and it says that this warning light and tone is fitted to vehicles.........in selected countries !!!! which ones I dont know.

Maybe I am wrong, but I think I saw this display listed in my owners manual *where fitted "but I am far too lazy to go to my car and have a look right now !!!I will have a look tommorow. Paul.

Firstly dont assume its your glow plug. I hoped it was that at fault with mine. When I plugged my Vag-com interface in I found it was not the glow plug at fault but Combustion-Air Blower (V6) 16-00 - Signal Outside Specifications. Do you have access to Vag-com? Where do you live ?

Right then. Does anyone know how to enable this feature (Seat belt warning display) with Vag-com. Is it just a case of "switching it on" or do you have to change the seat belt "thingies" (technical term !!!lol). Paul

Yeah it probably would be better,but as the gal and sharan are all but identical the TIS should suffice.......but if you know anyone who will do me a copy of ETKA...I will supply the disc and SAE. Regards Paul

I have reset my sevice reminder (that bloody chime was doing my head in!!!!) and have discovered two faults which I have posted in another thread of which I need a little assistance.Vag scope is a cool bit of tech !!! Paul.

Cheers for that Mike. .......well would you beleive it ,had no luck with the interface finding modules on my cars ,so the supplier ,a very helpful SK Pang calls me up to give me a walkthr ough of the system...........I plug it in and the bloody thing only starts finding the modules.So we are now in business !!!! Easy when you know how.LOL Now here are a couple of questions 1) where do I find the fault codes and part numbers on TIS and can anyone shed any light on the below fault.GSM guy has suggested it may be a stuck blower impeller due to lack of use (I found it to be unplugged,maybe the previous owner got scared when he heard the ticking and saw the smoke lol !!!!) Hello all. Well i am on my second Key Pro Usb cable,first one i could only get to read two modules on my 1997 Sharan Tdi and about six on my Sharan Tdi new shape. Got my new one which has been extensivly tested by the supplier and found to be working as it should but still it only reads two modules etc. I am using a brand new Dell Inpiron 8600c laptop which is running windows xp and have downloaded the latest version of Vag Com.......Am I doing something wrong ?????? Also how do you do screenshots and copy results from a autoscan ???? Paul.

Mike I got the Key Pro from Sk Pang also but I havent as yet registered for support (I assume thats what you have to do !?! ). If I had opened the envelope that came with the cable I would have known that LOL. I have been in contact with Sukkin Pang (real name lol) and he has asked me to try the cabl;e on a non TDI VW.......so my boss's TT will be tested and we will see what happens. I have now managed to reset my sevice due reminder but when I tried to access the address for my Aux heater again it wouldnt read it,,,,,,somewhat strange as I havent disrupted the plug or anything !!! Ho-hum...I will try again tonite. I did e-mail Ross Tec about Vag Com only reading two addresses on our 1997 Sharan but the didnt wanna know as I hadnt bought my cable from them.........fair enough I suppose. Paul

Might help if I post in the right place !!!! This question is for the ever helpful GSM Guy and anyone else with VAG -COM. Firstly I have tried it on my 1997 Sharan TDI and it will read the engine module (no faults there !!) and the instrument cluster again no faults.However if you go to individual module ie Aux heater....it wont read saying module unable to respond.....any suggestions there. Secondly I have tried it on my 2001 Sharan TDI (new shape) and it read more modules(being a newer car with more things on it you would expect that ).First fault.....yeah you guessed it Aux heater.......Combustion Air Blower (V6) 16.00 outside specification ???? What does that mean !!!! Then the other ones were a motion sensor fault and the temperature sensor intermitent...that I did know about. Lastly, I need to know how to reset my service interval reminder (tried the trip reset routine...works on Mk 1 but not 2.It has a chime and reads sevice now on the trip meter.The only info I have to reset refers to the version where it comes up "oil, insp,ino1,in02" ...mine does none of that.......just tells you service due 1,000 miles etc until "chime" service now !!!! Any help appreciated...ta very much >>>>>expect many more question as I delve deeper !!!! Paul

I wouldnt worry too much about it,my Sharan does exactly the same but only when the outside temp is below 4oC,but when its above it works normally.I have checked my water etc and everything appears to be as it should be.It has been mentioned in a previous post that if the gauge moves about as dramaticaly as mine does that it is not possible for the water and indeed the coolant temperature to alter that quickly.but get it checked all the same....mine is due a service in the New Year....so it will be mentioned...along with the aux heater,the air con turning itself on......the trip computer going mad,,,,,,,,,,,,etc.... Hi all The works Galaxy 2.3 (1998) has gone to the local Fraud dealer with starting problems that mirror some mentioned here and that all point to Relay 30 being at fault. The management in their infinite wisdom booked it in to have the problem rectified ,not knowing about this site and all the information available !!! (Hindsight ...a wonderful thing blah blah blah !!)......anyway long and short of it Fraud want to replace the Powertrain Control Module at a cost of
