Hi Mine did that when the temperature sensor was goosed !!! Mine wasnt an auto but its possible that its the same fault. If you know someone with VAG COM they will be able to confirm this for you.

Here for sale a brand new ...never fitted Mass Air Flow Meter/Sensor. Part number 0 280 217 121 06A 906 461 Its a Bosch item bought from Frauds not a cheapy Fleabay copy and I have the invoice for it so can be verified. All questions answered truthfully as I would expect in return if I was buying a "used " car. Dave. I got the front pads and discs done for 100 quid at Quick Fit and the rears done last week for 135 quid at a local garage....so dont pay anymore than that.....infact if you can pay a lot less !!!! Good Luck. Paul

Hi all. This problem has been with me for some time now ( ooo er Matron !!)my trip computer will only respond to one function each time I switch on the ignition. I switch off,then on then it advances to the following function ???? Any ideas ? Paul. I have a brand new function stalk but havent got the confidence to mess around with the airbag to replace it. Is it possible to plug the new one in while the old one is in situ ??? Vw Sharan 115TDI Sport 2000.
