Rimfire. You should find the socket between the steering colulm and the door (lower dash thanx FredT !!)under the fuse holder door. Atleast thats where I found mine !!!

Thanx FredT I will have a look for that port on my Mk 1 and Mk2 .Will they use different interface cables,if so is there a kit available that is compatable for the two ???

So when I get my laptop off Santa and my interface cable and armed with a download of VAG-COM....where can I find my ECU unit on my face lift Sharan Sport TDI.???Doesnt seem to be under passenger seat unless there is a plastic cover on top. Anyone had any "bad experiences"using Vag-Com..i.e changing parameters and fluffing up the whole shooting match or is it ....dare I say it FOOL PROOF !!!!

Hi all My on board computer has gone dippy.It will only take one instruction at a time...turn off ignition....turn it on and it will change to next function.Is the stalk at fault ?? VW Sharan TDI Sport........and how can I tell what type of interface I need if I am going to use VAG-COM,where do I plug in the said interface ????

Hello all. Is it really possible to get a socket on the bottom nut on the drivers side anti roll bar while it is on the ground without taking off the undertray,cos I can't !!!! If you take the top nut off and jack it up will there be any more clearance ??? I know this topic has been covered at least a thousand times but I keep finding different threads that capture my attention !!!!

.....I know this subject has been covered recently but I cant find the thread to continue it so here I am As per last thread explaining how to get rid of the "deadly blind spot" (1996 VW Sharan TDI)..I did as suggested and removed both wipers so that the drivers side was uppermost and left the suggested 15-20mm gap between the passenger one to avoid a "mid screen collision"..........but no matter how many different configorations I tried ,the passenger on always caught the drivers or one of them went off screen. Question is .....Am I doing something wrong ???? The set up on my "facelift"Sharan is different with the drivers side uppermost.

I too have had this problem ...sounds like a bad connection on the battery.All I did was loosen off both terminals wiggle them around and retightened.Bobs yer uncle and Fannies yer aunt...job soted !!

As daft as it sounds ..make sure the wheel nuts are tight !!! I expierienced this sort of sound ,as described above,travelling down rhe A1.called Green Flag out who in turn took the car home also thinking drive shaft was bust......but in the end LOOSE WHEEL NUTS..so give it a check before you strip it down

Got both sunroof and aircon in my 1997 Sharan.......should have been a standard option bearing in mind how reliable the aircon is !!!!! NOT !!!! Incidentley...the aircon in this car smells like and I quote my good lady "cheesey feet".Anyone else got "cheesey feet" aircon ???

Is there any difference in the drop bar links or anti roll bar links on the Mk 1 and Mk 2 ie will one with this part number fit a new shape Sharan.7m0411317c. I dunno how to check if it is compatable as my local dealer is somewhat unhelpful.Its not just Fraud who know nothing about aftersales service !!!

Dunno whether this topic has been discussed but here I go anyway........Has anyone fitted a TDI power box to 115 bhp 6 speed.?? I put one on my Golf TDI 90 bhp and it mad a massive difference. My only concern with the Sharan is these babies are heavy on the front skids anyway so what are they like with a box on !!!! My golf would try and wheel spin in 3rd gear when I put the "box of tricks" on....very scary in the wet :rolleyes:

Dunno about you guys,but I think theres something about rumaging around a scrappy..........must be a man thing as "er indoors" cant see the fascination.Many a satisfying Sunday morning spent amongst the old relics (and I dont mean lunch at the in-laws) ;)
