As the majority of members on this forum will tell you.......we are are all generally happy with our "Shalaxies" .....the whole idea of a forum of this kind is to be able to talk about our motoring woes and sort them out between ourselves rather than paying the garages extortionate amounts of our hard earned. If you are still concerned about your purchase, go to ANY other owners forum...regardless of make and see what they are talking about. Hijacker How did you enable this on your Bora ? I would like to do it on our Bora as "er indoors" always has her bag and mobile in full view so if the local "chavs and pikeys " wanted to snatch em they could easily do so.I have told her about only pressing the key fob once and leaving the rest locked but if she has the kids in they are all open. I have Vag -com.

This happened on a friend of mines Galaxy TDI. He just pushed the connector on the throttle response unit(accelerator pedal :) ).....must have been loose ...and everything was fine and dandy !!!

........now I wish I had a little wager on which one of the "petrolheads" would make a comment like that !!!! lol !!!!! :P cheers mate :P ...but seriously you may be right there cos I had to unplug the aux heater as it was trying to kick in regardless of outside temp.........question is would it honk of diesel even if it wasnt conected up ????

Smell Of Diesel !!!!!!!! There is a distinct smell of unburnt diesel in and around my Sharan,,,,more noticable when on the move with the window down ?????No leaks or wet patches......any ideas folks???? And yeah-yeah before all you "petrolheads" start...we know diesels are smelly :P Paul

Went to my helpful VW dealer ???today to ask for the secret key number required to enable our lasses spare key with the imobiliser ,as described on the Ross-tech site.The dude said to me "you wont be able to do that as you need a diagnostic machine to do it".Never fear old man ,I said,I have one of those (well Vag-Com). He then told me it was all done on line now with the car plugged in online so they would do it for half an hour labour charge

Hi all Our lass got er new mota tday.2000 X Bora SE TDI Got a brand new spare key with it remote type ...the remote opens and closes the car but when you start the car with it it,it stops straight away and the display comes up "Vehicle Imobilised".How do I code the key for the imobiliser.Any help much appreciated. Hi all ABS light and Brake wear light came on just before I put the car in the garage.Drove it in ,switched it off then back on...no warning lights,so I plugged in VAG-COM and this code came up....... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Address 03: ABS Brakes Controller: 1J0 907 379 P Component: ABS 20 IE CAN 0001 Coding: 12502 Shop #: WSC 00020 1 Fault Found: 01130 - ABS Operation 27-10 - Implausible Signal - Intermittent ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- any ideas.I ran all the output tests once I cleared the code and everything came up ok !!!! Matt...Try it on the wifes car first......if it peels the paint ......make it look like she has spilt something on it !!!!! :huh:

Paul If it has the Gamma system then its the same as my Sharan.I would tell him to check the connection plugs at the rear of the unit to make sure they are seated together properly. Paul

Try some VW ones...Golf Mk 3 and Polo Mk4 ones definitely fit.

Monty It almost certainly sounds like your brake light switch which is located (suprisingly enough !!!) on your brake pedal.Hope you have little hands and dont't mind shedding a little blood cos its "tight and sharp "down there.There are posts on this site on how to do....just type in "brake light switch" in the search facility and it will come up. Good luck Get you tetanus jab topped up in case of cuts :rolleyes:
