MM I have a fault code Engine Coolant Temp Sensor (G62) open or short to plus P1256-35-10 Intermittent This causes the temp gauge to go up and down ...some days it will...others not !!!and when the car warms up it runs pants !!! I am thinking it is the one mounted in the hose (Mine is the PD engine) although I think it may be on the side of the engine close to the battery compartment area !! My humble appologies to the mother funky at VW if he supplied me with the correct part number. MM are you looking at ETKA or TIS for your info ?? -

On the subject of part numbers.....will a Maf from a AJM engine work on a AUY engine........Reason for the question is I want to try the maf from my Bora on my Sharan to see if thats the problem before I go out and buy a new one..They are both 2000 115 pd engines. Also what is the correct name for the driver required to take out the two fasteners holding the element in ????? -
Engine Coolant Temp Sensor (g62)
paulmpaciorek replied to paulmpaciorek's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
ok then folks...anyone care to post a nice little piccy of the engine coolant temp sensor so i can change it............had a look but there are so many wires and sensors......aye i remember when i had a mk2 escort...there was probably three wire on the whole engine...ahhh the good old days -
My car is running a bit pants at the mo !!! It has an intermittent fault on the Engine Coolant Temp Sensor (G62) Open or Short to Plus P1256 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent It has a bit of a flat spot at lo revs which it pulls through but doesnt really want to rev above 3000 rpm but will if you push it........does any one think this fault is fooling the management system into thinking the engine is running cold?????? Thought it might be the MAF but disconnected it and the car was flat as a fart so not that then !!!! :(

Hey It makes sense just to replace the probe rather than the whole unit as this is what is at fault.......in this day and age of recycling blah blah blah....respect to the people who are prepared to sell you just the actual part you need. Paul ;)

Credit for that attachment goes to Masked Marauder who posted it first.......very interesting as you said. ;) Paul

Hi Mike I know yours is a petrol but the purpose of the Maf or Air mass flow meter is explained here, http://volkswagen.msk.ru/engine/tdi-tech.pdf but correct me if Im wrong fellow forum members but it has the same "limited life span, problematic" purpose on both petrol and diesel engines. Paul. ;)

3rd Row Of Seats...
paulmpaciorek replied to GSMGuy's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Hey Mike. sounds like a result mate.......but I cant help thinking you have too much torque for your autobox with you added "brake gee-gees".......as we are aware that VW dont put an auto box on the Shalaxy 130 and 150 bhp.....do you think maybe that could be the reason why ???? So silky smooth gearchange, cold air coming from the aircon, aux heater working !!! ha...next you will be telling us you have a back wiper that actualy touches the window and doesnt "bleed" its fluids in your passenger footwell  Enjoy while it lasts !!!! -

More bad news Idris !!! If it is the PCM you aint gonna get much change outta a grand. The Gal at work also a 2.3 had one replace mid last year.I still think it was a rip off as Fraud said it was a full dash out job,but I have seen other post where it says you just need to remove the speedo cluster.Hope it doesnt cost youthat much  -
Is it possible that there is a small split or hole in the expansion tank ???????

Knackered Zorst Pipe !
paulmpaciorek replied to paulmpaciorek's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Joke of the day !!! This was written in the local Thompsons phone directory by Lookers VW.......How competetive are we ???? Just ask our competitors !!! This statement is made about there fast fit service for exhausts etc. So as I needed a rear silencer thought I would give em a buzz and see just how competetive they were........Price for rear silencer to take away......... -
My attention has now gone from my "tight nuts!!" to my rear silencer which has "dearly" departed from the rest of the exhaust. Has any one bought one from Kwik fit or the likes and what do they cost.....??? I'm gonna put it on my self.I also had to chop off about 3" of rot off the middle silencer (2" inside the rear silencer and 1" behind it so Im hoping there is enough "swing " on the rubber mounts for it to make a good connection. Dont want to have to buy the full middle section as there is no rot elsewhere in it........question is will it make contact with the underbody ??????
