Is that the original pump? I am a great advocate of changing the pump whilst you are doing the timing belt anyway, especially so in timing belt driven pumps. Lets face it, they are never going to be life-time items, so for the sake of an extra

DOT 4 is the recommended fluid.

Manual Gearbox
Masked Marauder replied to Dave-G's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Some manual gearbox cars have a fuel-mapping switch, you bang the throttle down and it goes into "power" mode for a set period of time before switching back to economy. But I don't think the Galaxy does. -
I think VAG have been resting on their laurels for quite a while now, and before too long their perceived build quality status is about to come crashing down.
-
Yep, if your having to pump them then bleeding is the most likely cure. Get an ezee-bleed kit and change the fluid, kill two birds with the one stone. Don't forget to do the clutch at the same time.
-
That is a common practice now, and not limited to VAG! I have seen a few Vauxhall ones that have done the same.
-
No, that is what is supposed to happen. Have you driven the car, how do they feel when driving?

I think the most likely chance would be looking for VW/Audi/Seat steering wheels.

Vent Temp
Masked Marauder replied to Ogben Schmutzel's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
did you leave your car running for ten minutes at 1500rpm first though? 6 degrees vent temperature @ ambiant of 15DegC is at the top end of acceptable. Also the probe should be 2 inches (5cm) inside the vent. -
Vent Temp
Masked Marauder replied to Ogben Schmutzel's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
One of our drivers used full air con the other day, he did a full shift with it just coming out the two driver's side face vents, it was blowing onto the back of his hands and fingers too. At the end of the day his hands were agony, not frostbite, but his skin was dried out and cracked horribly! Why he never just set the temperature to something comfortable like 18 degrees and left it there, well only he knows. -
So in short, the battery when it comes with the car has a 12 month warranty, but buy the identical battery from the parts department and it has a 36 month warranty. Well thats clear as mud then!

Cruise Control Can Not Be Fitted...
Masked Marauder replied to a topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
No, the setting is in flash ROM so will stay set. I had read elsewhere that all that was required on a TDi was the switch, and that sometimes the cruise is enabled anyway on the ecu. -
Vent Temp
Masked Marauder replied to Ogben Schmutzel's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
It depends on the outside temperature. At 1500rpm for 10 minutes with air set to recirculate and aircon on at the lowest setting, your center face vent temperature should be checked against the chart... http://trevor.dynip.com/images/chartvent.jpg A is vent temperature and B is ambient external temperature. Your vent temperature should fall between the two lines. -
Bit Of A Wobble On The Steering Wheel
Masked Marauder replied to Taliska's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Could be a few things, the majority of which are tyre related. Has someone bumped it up or down a kerb, or hit a pot-hole, that can damage the steel bands in the tyre and they can snap at a later date causing the tyre to go out-of-shape. Tyre cuts/nail-holes can result in the banding corroding through with the same results. -

Cam Belt On Tdi's
Masked Marauder replied to Bigjeeze's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Look on your log book, if yours is a 110bhp model it should be an AFN engine. Thats what you are looking for the three letters. But as far as I know the 90bhp model is the same parts. If it is the case then the GSF part number is probably 13007 for the rollers/tensioner kit ( -

No, on the Northampton Road in Daventry. If you are coming from Staverton direction you turn right at the first big roundabout, straight over the second and it is on the right just after the Murco filling station. http://www.intapart.com/index.htm -

"equates to" - the MoT does not require the handbrake to be tested to see if it will hold the car on an incline. The test is to ensure the parking brake is capable of holding a car on a 1 in 6.25 incline. It is nothing to do with a secondary braking system, indeed, and I can also assure you of this, if on your driving test you touched the handbrake whilst the vehicle was moving you would fail on a serious safety failure.
