Good thread topic, you have got a Galaxy and you have troubles! Your posting in the technical help section of a Galaxy board. Perhaps a description of the problem in the thread topic would be more appropriate?

Can Two Blaupunkt's Skip?
Masked Marauder replied to Ogben Schmutzel's topic in I.C.E (In Car Entertainment) Discussion
Well all I can suggest is to disconnect every wire except the speakers, positive power inputs and the ground connection. It could be one of the unused wires that are connected are causing the problem. -
Not on your model. If you have the 4 digit key-code that came with the car when new then someone with VAG-COM can easily do the job though.

Can Two Blaupunkt's Skip?
Masked Marauder replied to Ogben Schmutzel's topic in I.C.E (In Car Entertainment) Discussion
The skipping. Does it go silent or just skip forwards or backwards or to the start of the next track. Give me something to go on! -

Temperature Gauge Sensor For 1.9 Tdi (90)

NO, all Ford anti-freeze is ETHYLENE-GLYCOL based. -
VOSA Tinted Windows leaflet in PDF format http://www.vosa.gov.uk/vosa/publications/t...information.pdf As you point out though, in Northern Ireland the annual test is carried out by the DVTA and they do have the correct testing equipment to test the glass. And I agree if the PFI was available to do the same over here then quite a few motorists would be shocked at what they will do to your car.

Need A New Ignition Key
Masked Marauder replied to mike99's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
lol, I wish they weren't! Everything now seems to cost an arm and a leg! If SEAT would tell me my 4 digit key security code I would buy a cheap non-transponder key and drill a hole in the top and epoxy in one of my spare chips and program that up! But the B@stards won't tell me, even though originaly the number came with the car on a card. -

Whispering Noise By Glove Box?
Masked Marauder replied to Ogben Schmutzel's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
The gas does seep out over time, but longer than a couple of months. Often they also put in seal conditioner and the PAG oil makes the seals swell slightly too, the oil is carried round by the gas. -

I have to agree. I am wondering if perhaps it is the K-Bus wire, that is specific to VAG units. I would make sure there is no connections to any connector that does not need them. -
Egr Gas Recycle Valve
Masked Marauder replied to steve67car's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Look on the bright side though, if a car did produce N2O anyone who tried to kill themself by putting a hose from the exhaust into the car would die laughing! -

The guy does say NOx in his blurb though. Clearly he has become confused by listening to to many street racers talking of "NOS" or "NOZ" -
Egr Gas Recycle Valve
Masked Marauder replied to steve67car's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
The stuff injected into car engines (along with extra fuel) is Nitrous Oxide (N20) not Nitrogen Dioxide (NO2), but a car an not run on N2O alone, you need to use extra fuel to burn along with the liberated O2 -
Temperature Gauge Sensor For 1.9 Tdi (90)
Masked Marauder replied to Trig's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
You can not mix Ethylene-Glycol and Propylene-Glycol antifreezes. All current Ford anti-freezes are Ethylene-Glycol based. As will be the blue/green you used. Propyline-Glycol is normally purple. -
Can Two Blaupunkt's Skip?
Masked Marauder replied to Ogben Schmutzel's topic in I.C.E (In Car Entertainment) Discussion
Can you take it out and bench test it at all? Does is skip if your standing still or only when moving? If it is only when moving, did you use the right angle ariel bracket? Because of a bracket in the dash there is limited clearance at the rear of the unit. If it is touching this bracket it could be transmitting vibrations. -

Sozz dude, bad news, it is pin 6 on connector A, shown on yours as a NC -
It is a known problem and there is an official Ford fix on the TIS. It is use a smaller blade......
-
Aye, but to make a profit worh the risk you would have to get about
-
Yep, white for me too, and I have a spare cluster. But it would need to be 15 of the same cluster, and they are different depending on the model, diesel rev counters don't go as high!
-
No you won't loose the code. The car is programed to accept the remote. There are two batteries in the remote BTW. the second is under the metal plate.
-
That sounds like a stuck open thermostat rather than a faulty sender.

As above though, the police and VOSA do have the enforcement authority, and the have the correct testing equipment. They are looking for aftermarket tint film and excessively tinted windows. Any less than 70% of light getting through the tint is an offence and unless it is classed as "Heavily Tinted." Where less than 30% of light gets through then normally a rectification ticket is issued. The ticket is taken to an MOT station to make sure the problem has been resolved. Then strange paradox is that the MOT tester does not have the meter and there is no timescale for him to have it on the basis of unit costs. Bear in mind at this time the MOT stations are having to swallow the cost of the new computerised MOT. So how can he confirm the rectification if he is nether equiped or trained to do it? A prohibition notice is normally only issued if less than 30% of light is getting through the tint. It should be noted that technically any aftermarket film is not legal, but usually a very low tint or clear security film will be ignored as long as it does not obscure vision and is properly fitted.
-
The only glass that should be checked by the MOT tester is the front screen and that will be failed if any opaque film is fitted. Any other tint is not tested other than for scratching etc, as the tester is neither trained to, or has the equipment to test it. Side windows are outside the remit of an MOT Tester. Anyone who does test them is being over-zealous and going beyond their training.
