  1. I don't think my budget could stretch to 7 seats chap. I am just after the swivel bases to fit onto my seats. I was thinking of a trip over to Daventry to see what they had in the breakers yard.
  2. It is at it's capacity for passengers and passengers pay more than frieght. In addition it is not really plausable to use it for most frieght. I do 3 trips a night to pick up milk, that is 60 tonnes of milk moved from place of production to point of distribution in 8 hours. You can not do that by rail. Everything now is done the cheapest way and rail is not it.
  3. Your not worried about putting the DVD unit under the seat though?
  4. Sounds more like a faulty CV joint to me. They use a tripod type on the inside end of the drive-shaft and they do funny things when they are failing.
  5. Grandad! Is that really you grandad? :D
  6. The question should be "Why does a
  7. Or merge the thread into the Pink Boxes one.....
  8. I have to agree with you. As a lorry driver this has been a problem for us as an industry since the introduction of speed limiters. You get two drivers who won't slow down for anyone side by side and there is an issue that then reflects badly on all lorry drivers. Most of us either back off a few mph when someone is trying to pass us, or we back off a few mph rather than try to pass someone else. It adds very little to the journey time and reduces driver stress. But there will always be the drivers who won't care about anyone but themselves and how quickly they can get there. And as this is usually a problem on dual carriageways they are usually speeding too, as the limit is 50MPH and the limiter is circa 56MPH. On the A14 the worst culprits are non-UK drivers who get fined heavily if they speed in their own country.
  9. They are much less from a motor factor. About
  10. Will it fit in my headlamps if I fill them up?
  11. Anyone would think you lived next door....
  12. This is pretty much done and dusted guys, the tread was unpinned in the hope it would slip away as some of the contents are not the best advert for the site in general. It has been posted on four times since then pushing it back up. I think it best it goes now.
  13. There are two thin metal bars at the front of the seat, one with a handle indent, squeeze them together and pull the seat up and out.
  14. I doubt you will get much difference in BHP, just much more induction noise.
  15. Try cleaning it some more. Failing that, the ICV lets unmetered air in. When the engine is cold you need more unmetered air. Check your engine temperature sensor. It may be thinking it is colder than in is.
  16. I am seriously considering getting a hold of a couple of swivel bases and fitting them to my car.
  17. Well over Easter half term we went to The Walter Rothschild Zoological Museum in Tring and then had a picnic and flew our kites on Dunstable Downs. And that was about it.... Times are hard though!
  18. And it certainly looks BER even at
  19. Does this mean right hand side ? Please explain !! Nearside means Near the Kerb (UK driving) and off side means the side awat from the kerb - So nearside is left and offside is Right. :o Assuming that you're sat inside the car, if you're working under the bonnet or parked on the wrong side of the road it can take on a whole new meaning :o :D :D :D :D :D Well as far as ordering parts goes VW use "Left" or "Right" hand side and it is left and right as if you are sitting in the car.
  20. I have used top-up cans and a pressure gauge and they worked fine. Before there were fancy machines to do it that is how they filled the system up anyway, using a bottle of gas rather than a can though! They still do it this way where there is a unknown quantity of gas required.
  21. Where is the "intake air temperature sensor" you mention? In the pipe from the air filter? If so then that is the MAF. And if it is the MAF then the best way to test it is to unplug it and see if the car runs better without it!
  22. I can show you 10 year old copper grease that has not gone hard. The grease is its self only a carrier for the particles of copper. And it is the copper slipping against it's self that lubricates.

  24. Yes it is a complete pedal assembly. Someone on here got one a few months back.
