Worn bores will not cause low oil pressure. Not ever. Worn mains or big end shells will though. But I agree, it could be faulty wiring or switch, or pressure relief valve, which is why the advice I have constantly given is to fit a gauge and read the pressure off properly. In the winter it is worth making sure it works, I would not bother at the moment though. The best way to make it work is to take the connector of the back of the switch and put a mini fuse in it's place. It will always come on then if the coolant is below 75 degrees and the engine is running. EDIT: Does the later model have the switch on the wiper linkage, I can't see it on the parts catalogue!

The belt never needs changed, it has a chain, not a belt. Perhaps it is the axillary drive belt you are meaning. The service schedule simply says that it is to be checked for wear and tensioned or changed if necessary. The rupture sounds like the sump gasket, the seller should be able to fix this no problems, the air-con is likely just a re-gas is needed.
