  1. Book it out (unless it is a warranty job) as it is most likely the brake light switch that takes 10 mins to change and costs
  2. The rate they are selling at perhaps he will get some more!
  3. I would love one, would help keep the drive clean. I fear Tiff would have something to say though!
  4. Ignore the doom mongers. With an assistant it can be done!
  5. He has a few for sale, so don't all bid on the same one!
  6. Open the bonnet and you will see a screw to the side of the head lamp. Loosen it and pull the indicator out.
  7. Looked on ETOS and the doors are the same part number regardless of MK1 or MK2
  8. A local filling station near me had a machine for this. You bought your 5 litre can of oil and got a token for the machine. Put the tube down the dipstick hole, the token into the slot and 30 seconds later if needed you could spin the filter off, new one on. Oil in and bobs your uncle. No getting rid of the old oil either! Not enough people used it so they removed it. They remove the oil by a big vacuum unit at my work, as they also do at the local Mercedes dealers. Dirty oil is pretty toxic and anything they can do to stop in coming into contact with the fitters is a good thing.
  9. Trouble is the woman wants it all doing on the cheap. Hiring kit is not going to happen. When she found out that the hire of the freezing kit was going to be
  10. It was her that changed her mind..... First she wanted just the valve changing....
  11. Not done it yet, the woman has been away for a few days. I am doing it on Friday and will be draining down the system as she now wants a full flush etc, so the whole topic was a waste of time!
  12. When you consider the camshaft pulley and the pump can both be adjusted independently I can not understand why the crank pulley is not keyed either. Every other car I have owned has had a Woodruff key in the crank.
  13. I am not conviced an early booster heater is going to talk to anything.....
  14. that last link is a file that will/should unlock your phones for you
  15. Perhaps, but the OP has a TDi not a VR6.
  16. If you go and unplug a healthy MAF the performance is dire. So if your performance is dire and you unplug a healthy MAF it will be even worse. If it is the same then clearly the MAF is causing the poor performance. Therefore performance worse or the same - suspect the MAF.
  17. No, that is a spare connector for a hook-up not used on your car. Unplug the MAF and go for a drive.
  18. Are you using the "Save to web" feature? My mistake, you need to use Adobe
  19. Easy enough to do, load into Adobe
  20. Yes you unplug the MAF, if it drives the same or better then the MAF is past it's "use by" date
  21. The slam panel is the bit the bonnet slams shut into.

  23. Nope, took them out, hooked them up to the battery to test them, they glowed hot instantly, put them back. Knew about the door opening, key turn BS so looked up the wiring diagram. No connection to the doors or the alarm or locking system.
