I think all the advertising about Valentines Day is wonderful. They give so much publicity to the fact that Feb 14th is approaching that it makes it impossible to forget my Wedding Anniversary on Feb 13th :16:

Id better keep quiet about the flat I got many years ago on a Bedford Viva van then  Flat as a pancake so jacked the van up. The jack wouldnt fit in the normal location because the van was too low. Took the old wheel off and went to fit the spare. Wouldnt go on, van wasnt high enough but jack was at maximum. Got the hammer out and used it to prop up the van so that I could relocate the jack in its proper place. Fitted wheel and was on the road again. Punctures do seem far more rare than they used to be. I did 165k in my old Pug without a single puncture but my Galaxy did get one and it was a fast one needing the wheel to be changed which is when I also suffered the dreaded spare wheel carrier problem -_-

How long does it take to replace all 4 speakers? I have the speakers but havent had a chance to fit them yet :)

I think the reason for no spare wheel is to solve the problem of the siezed spare wheel carrier !!! I have seen a lot of people having tyres changed by recovery firms so the figure may well be true but how do you change something you dont have !!!! I have breakdown cover with Britannia Rescue and there are numerous mentions of "carrying a spare wheel where appropriate". Presumabley this means that a Mk1 or Mk2 owner who has left the wheel in the garage because the carrier is stuffed will be in deep doo doo, but I assume that as the Mk3 doesnt have one they would be covered.... or maybe not!

Might have to dig mine out at some stage and play "Mr. Do" Didnt use mine for games much....basically because I am rubbish at games!!!! My BBC's had to work for a living. One spent 10 years in a pub running a video switcher that I built. It NEVER crashed and the only time it failed to boot was when someone acidently ejected the floppy disk that it loaded the program from. Wish I could say the same about PC's !!!!! Always wanted an Archimedes but didnt get round to getting one although I did try one out with a program I had written. It used to take about two minutes to run on the BBC, tried it on the Archie and it finished in under a second !!!!!!

Only the best home computer of its age. ;) It was the de facto computer used in schools and almost every episode of Tomorrows World showed a lab that was using a BBC B to run their experiments. I still have two of them in fully working order. (I did have 6 at one time!!!) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BBC_Micro http://www.old-computers.com/museum/computer.asp?c=29 http://www.gondolin.org.uk/hchof/machines/bbc-model-b.html http://www.bbcmicrogames.com/roms.html http://www.machine-room.org/computer.php?i...mp;view=general http://www.videogamejunkie.co.uk/hardware/modelb/modelb.php It had the ability for programs to be stored in Eproms and the machine itself was instant on....well two seconds for the two beeps it emited when powered up. Programs stored in Eprom would also load instantly so within a couple of seconds you could be word processing or playing a game. BRILLIANT MACHINES :) They also had a PROPER keyboard, unlike the Spectrum which was like poking your fingers into cold rice pudding. It had a "younger brother" called the Electron and was superceeded by its Big Brother the Archimedes. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acorn_Archimedes

My first computer was a BBC B when I was 25. Got my first PC when I was 35, it came with that new fangled Windows 95 !! Either that statement is not totally accurate, or you are going to have to do all your computing assignments in your car. Seat will probably be more comfy though :) :(

and any/amount of excess Dont forget to take into account any "no claims" you might have on your contents insurance. I had some kit damaged by lightning a few years ago and rang up about claiming. Was told I had to pay the first "x" amount so would only get "y" and that it would also affect my no claims. She told me what my renewal premium currenyl was per month and what it would be if I claimed. quick calculation revealed that 12 x difference was greater than "y" so I would be worse off. Seems like insurance is only worth having if you have a REALLY BIG claim to make. Robbing ******* :)

Put it upside down so the wind cant get underneath it. Have parked my Galaxy upwind of the Wheelie Bins that are flying about all over the place and got fingers crossed ;)

Which is why they can still screw even more money out of us  Have you tried public transport recently ? Its AWFUL. The buses are full of the scum of the earth who sit there F'ing and blinding regardless of the fact that people with young children are on the same bus. If you need to catch a bus at peak times and are unlucky enough to want to get on the bus at a point in the middle of the route, the buses often wont stop because they are already full so despite being a 10 minute service you may have to wait for an hour to get a bus. The ONLY times I have used buses in the last 10 years are when I used to have to drop my car in for a service and catch a bus to get home. The garage I use is about 3 miles from my house so at approx 20p per mile (mine is petrol) it costs me 60p for a comfortable journey, aircon, music, no scumbags. The bus for the journey home is

I thought it was going to be a box similar to that being trial by Norwich Union for PAYG insurance, which again will simply screw even more money from the long suffering motorist. The GPS tells the box where it is, and preloaded rules in the box determine the current charge per mile eg M25 @ peak time 10p per mile and clock up your bill accordingly. Every so often it dumps the data via a GPRS link to the main computers. They cant track you continuously (well they probably could but not everyone all the time) because as you say it would be a massive amount of data to store and analyse. As for the policing, the MOT is now computerised and included the recorded mileage. If the spybox doesnt tally with the speedo reading no doubt that there will be some automatic fine just like not getting your tax return in on time. Illegal cars are difficult to track down because they dont know who owns them. Our cars are all legal because we pay for MOT, Insurance etc and have the cars registered. Finding us is dead easy which is why the scheme appeals to them so much. Captive audience

Another method is the use of wheelie bins. In posh areas full of Mercs and BMWs etc, the car jackers will put the wheelie bin across the driveway. Householder arrives home to find driveway blocked and curses binmen. Gets out to move bin leaving engine running. Thief leaps out from behind neighbours hedge, into car and drives off. SCUMBAGS

I know what was meant by the above phrase but its quite funny because there are a lot of Indians working for the NHS.

I have never owned a car with heated seats but did once have a hire car with them. As with all hire cars there was no manual in the glove box and someone had turned the drivers seat on. As it was the summer, I had a severe case of Betty Swollox until I found the switch to turn it off. -
.... then I could play with my Christmas presents Got a set of 4 new speakers and a new CD/iPod Stereo. Currently my drivers door speaker has died, I think it is probably blown rather than wiring because wiggling the harness in the door makes no difference but I cant be sure until I strip the door out. I know the fault isnt in the old head unit as the front dash tweeter is still working OK but I dont want to change the head unit until I have sorted the speakers just in case it is a wiring fault. Just need some dry days so that I can rip all 4 doors apart and fit my new kit. BLOODY WEATHER  ;) ;)

Dont have much of a problem with people hogging the middle lane in Norfolk/Suffolk becaue most of our main roads are single carriageway. there are a few dual carriageways but I cant think of any with 3 lanes! Because our roads are single carriageway, 55mph lorries dont affect us either.... some plonker brought in a law restricting them to 45mph
