Cam Chain Tentioner
familyman replied to mark1rev's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Not sure , but i think the engine has to be jacked up as the top engine mount has to come off to allow access to the cam belt ? -

Cheers for that mate but do you have to replace other parts to accept the conversion. You said you changed the bonnet do you have to do that and what about anything else? The conversion is pretty straight forward as this kit uses the original headlight mounting bolt holes, the electrics just plug into the new units, the only cutting i had to do was to the trim between the bumper and the lights but this was easy as a template was supplied with the kit ,the only tricky bit is painting the surrounds to the lights as these come in primer.

Gearbox Selector Cable
familyman replied to tomy's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Yes defo go for taking out the ALL the seats it really does make it easier .The cable renewal itself is not such a bad job, just all the bits and pieces around it , trim , carpet to fold back , centre console to loosen , undertray , air feed hoses to the engine, aluminium heat shield that will be a sod to remove over the exhaust system, access to the gearbox to fit the new cables which can be a hard job, as trying to fit the ball joint ends of the cable on the the gearbox is hard because of the confined space ,it sounds a real hassle but if you allow plenty of time(a full day) and work methodically it can be done without a major drama,or you could just say sod it and get a garage to do it! -
