  1. Check out: http://www.gsfcarparts.com/ Good value, and reliable.
  2. They are just trying to lull you into a false sense of security. True, maybe they are getting desperate for customers, after lots have realised the alternatives are better and cheaper ! :D
  3. For once I actually walked out of a main dealer with a smile on my face ! :D
  4. Unbelievable, passed, sailed through with not even a bulb required ! Now theres a first....... :D Plus the garage (main dealer) only charged me
  5. They look good, have you got a closer shot of the wheels please.
  6. Initially, just check to see if the gas needs re-filling. Just had mine done for 50 quid. Need a pressure gauge on it.
  7. They are good, but like a lot of other MPV's/people carriers they are full of so many components, even Bosch ones that are supposed to be the most reliable, inevitably go wrong. I have a mate with a new Renault Espace, and its had a new gearbox, new A/C compressor, new windscreen, full of rattles, its spent 7 weeks in the garage out of 4 months, the list goes on and on......so its not just the Gals, and as long as you have a warranty you're OK for a long time without taking out a second mortgage ! When your warranty runs out pay 200 quid and get another one ASAP ! When they do work they are very good. :o
  8. :o :o :o :o :o :o :o Fingers crossed.............................. :)
  9. June 2006 Top Gear magazine has a review of the new Ford Galaxy, for anyone considering it. It gets quite a good write up.
  10. I bought some black car mats off ebay for wifes scenic, they are very poor quality, lasted about 3 months before the drivers side got a hole in it. They were so thin that when you held them up to the light you could see through them ! You get what you pay for, then bought a full set from a Renault main dealer, excellent quality, plus colour matched and fit perfectly, with cut outs in all the right places,
  11. They want one of these now, yes I know it'll grow into a big dog and I'll be the one walking, feeding it, clearing up after it etc etc ! :D
  12. Thanks for advice, we must be mad, a gaggle of kids, a cat, some fish, guinee pigs and now a large dog........ :D oh the joys of family life.........., but an ideal car to fit it all in ! :D maybe start looking at a transit...... Thanks for the offer mumof4 but I think we will go straight for a full size divider.
  13. My A/C was blowing warm air after little use this winter, so I got a local mobile refrigeration specialist guy to come and take a look. He did checked system and gas was down to 5psi. So did a full pressure test with no immediately apparent leaks, he re-charged the gas and let it run for a while, now blowing icy cold air. Cost:
  14. We are about to get a dog, and I am looking for a dog cage, I have seen a few on ebay, but what I was wondering is, do they rattle  , anyone any experience, as I hate rattles, and would prefer not to have one if it does. Anyone got the Ford manufactured one ? How does it fit. Thanks. :D
  15. You got it in one ! :D
  16. The following link makes interesting reading: http://www.reliabilityindex.co.uk/ The Gal doesn't come out too bad, but guess what the biggest fault is !
  17. This unit like mine has a function for mobile phone auto noise mute when making and receiving calls through a car kit. It is most likely that behind the unit (if you have no car kit attached) there is still unnecessary wiring from a previous owner, as I had the same problem, but was soon sorted by unplugging the yellow wire.
  18. Where abouts is the pipe, can you take a pic of it and put it on here, it might benefit me too, as my A/C has just packed in...... :)
  19. Its a good point greg, and I would agree if it wasn't for the times when it doesn't go wrong, as these times are excellent. I have never had such a car that you can drive for 7 solid hours and get out without feeling nackered. The kids love the space, and generally even with the faults I believe it to be the best overall people carrier currently on the market, and I have driven most of them at some time, so not speaking too biased. Do what I've done, get a recent Galaxy even out of manufacturers warranty and pay about 200 quid a year on a third party warranty, that covers nearly everything that goes wrong. Providing your car hasn't got starship enterprise mileage and isn't older than 10 years you can get one reasonably. I have had loads of major expensive stuff go wrong over the last 3 years, but I haven't paid for any of it, other than wear and tear items.
  20. Believe me, the picasso has more than its fair share of faults too, as do most cars.......... The grass isn't always greener on the other side !
  21. I have an Acer screen, that is excellent but whichever you choose, I recommend this free microsoft program called 'cleartype', it enhances the font (text) on screen. Makes a big difference and easier to read. http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloa...ppowertoys.mspx
  22. You're the lucky one ! They must have been having a good day at the factory that day !..... Mines failed 3 times in 3 years. But all covered by warranty fortunately.
  23. Unreliable air con. Say no more !
  24. I know its boring and been covered so many times, but now the summers coming it'll rear its ugly head once again: I've not used my A/C for a while (for obvious reasons!), although I have periodically run it during the winter as you're supposed to do, I now come to use it today (65 degrees!) and after a new compressor and re-gas last year its stopped working again, no cold air even on the 'LO' setting. Fortunately it is covered under my warranty, so I have it booked in and can see a massive warranty claim coming their way. It has to be the most unreliable A/C system ever developed. So, anyone any idea what it might be this time, as it appears the compressor is actually working ? :P
  25. Slightly off topic, but still to do with ebay: Take a look at this !!! Its a link to ebay item........... :D http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/How-to-Avoid-Ford-Ga...1QQcmdZViewItem
