  1. Exact thing happened to me last year, drive shafts replaced under warranty.
  2. Great web site........but can't find any Galaxys ! I bet his premiums went up a bit ;)
  3. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-3...=calm+down+dear
  4. I got the same tyres from 'RapidFit' last year, Dunlop 2020, they originally quoted
  5. 2001 Tdi mk2, 65k miles, original clutch. I used to have a Peugeot 406, 38,000 miles the clutch failed after 2 years and was replaced under warranty in full by Peugeot.
  6. They usually only put the cop on the bike down the road to stop you if its using 'ANPR', which is Automatic Number Plate Recognition System. This can pick up on, no insurance, no or outdated tax, stolen vehicles etc etc, but not speeding motorists. Its an excellent system that gets to the people who make the likes of us pay more insurance.
  7. Voted 'yes' but again it would depend on when and where. I like the idea of Clumber Park in Nottinghamshire as mentioned on other discussion, centrally located and a nice place. The summer would be the best time, but not August as this tends to be holiday season time for most families.
  8. Work carried out under warranty is only guaranteed upto the end of the warranty period, whether that be 3 years or 1 day. Do a seach for 'air con' and you'll find that air con probs have effected most us at some stage unfortunately, and is probably one of the most written about subjects on this forum !
  9. "Basically the change in the engine map is extremely hard to diagnose, even with the right equipment to compare it with. Secondly to say something has been modified you have to compare it to the original and with only one map on the car what can you compare it against to prove it has been modified." as quoted from company web site. Anyone else taken this option ?
  10. Item already arrived and absolutely spot on. No more solo singing........Thanks all for info and ebay ! :D
  11. My local engine 'remapping' mobile unit is offering a 40bhp power increase on the 115tdi PD tdi by remapping the engine managment unit. They offer a trial after the increase and remove the software if you're not happy with the improved performance, putting it back to as it was before. This costs around 300 quid. Seems like a large power increase for not a lot of money. Obviously increasing the turbo boost at lower revs etc, anyone any experience in this, as I am sceptical about it. :D But very tempted !
  12. Excellent, thanks for the advice, I think the one I have just bought off ebay is for the 5000 unit that I have. Fingers crossed.
  13. Aha, yes thanks, I will 'buy it now', whatever did we do before ebay !
  14. Thanks for the info, I will take the plunge and buy one on ebay, I think it will be code free, with the code being stored in the head unit. I hope !
  15. Whilst clearing out the car I think I must have stupidly thrown away the radio front panel for my Ford Radio, does anyone know if any replacement will work, or are they coded with the set ?? Help I am starting to sing to myself. :)
  16. :( Looks Ok, but I don't think I can afford one for a while, will it have the VW bits that make the current one that bit better ? i.e. VW diesel / Bosch electronics etc or will it be the Ford diesel ? I suppose it must have improvements over the old one in some way shape or form. ;)
  17. It tends to be the cold weather that causes this. When warmed up its fine, I have same gearbox/spec etc and find that its just the cold, just like my bones.
  18. Info from site: Is re-mapping better or simply different from chipping? OBD Engine mapping is the modern version of chipping. When you "chip" a car you basically put in a chip that has a set of data already burnt onto it, into your ECU. When you OBD remap an ECU, you save off the data currently stored on the chip and overwrite it with the performance data. This then allows you to apply different maps where applicable and also restore the original data should you require it. The benefit obviously of this is that it means you have not changed any standard part of the car and therefore warranty is unaffected etc. What you must remember is that this is not some gimmick promise item that fools the engine into thinking something else (oh how I wish those things would be banned under the sales description act!), it is the real version of engine tuning using a modern approach.
  19. The 130 and 115 can be uprated by engine remapping upto 50BHP, see guide below. So in theory my 115 can be uprated to 165BHP. The company can do it mobile too. The company is reputable as its been recommended by a mate of mine whos had his car done, with significant improved performance. http://www.angeltuning.co.uk/pdfs/engine/Ford.pdf
  20. If you must use a main dealer, Polar of Barnsley have always been good to me, cars always been repaired correctly and efficiently, which can't be said for some other local garages !
  21. A local firm has recently opened up, offering re-tuning (reprogramming) or as some used to know it 'chipped', services. It offers a power increase for the Ford Galaxy TDi amongst others, I was considering having my 115BHP 2001 TDi done, has anyone else had theirs done at any stage. They apparently do the reprogramming and let you take it out to see if you notice a difference before charging for the work. A mate of mine has just had his Golf GTTdi done, and he has noticed a significant increase in acceleration. However it cost him
  22. Are these optional, as I thought my ghia had most of the gadgets and I've not got them ?? :)
  23. I had this on my previous car, Mondeo, it turned out the excessive moisture was from the footwell in the rear passenger compartment, I'm sure that you've checked for damp carpets etc, but it does sound unusual for that much moisture build up, as mine never even needs a blast onto the windscreen for demisting.
