  1. Good luck! Saying they want the car for 2 days sounds like they don't have a clue what they are going to do but hopefully within that time they will stumble across something that has been causing the problem.
  2. The wobble on my MK2 Galaxy used to appear at about the 60-65mph range. It lasted for about 7,500 miles and then the offside drive shaft failed costing
  3. Thought mine were going to be manual as well but instead they are permanently fixed. The motors are in there behind the trim but as you say no switches or wiring to go with it !
  4. The new Galaxy versus any of the older models, Galaxy,Sharan,Alhambra don't even compare! I've had my new MK3 Ghia just over a week now and it's a massive leap in refinement in all aspects from my previous MK2 Ghia. I just wish I had made the switch sooner!!
  5. I use a Sony Ericcson K800i with my bluetooth setup and have had no connection or maintaining connection issues. The instructions for the Voice Control system, including managing the phone function are in the main manual towards the back. I can check the page numbers if this would help. The other voice instructions are there for the climate and audio system.
  6. MODS: Please move to relevant forum.
  7. the official ford wiring kit would disable the rear parking sensors when the electrics for your trailer/caravan are hooked up. generic electrics won't do this and hence the error code ?
  8. replaced every 125,000 miles !!
  9. Nothing is free in this world. I'll bet this will count as a call out and will affect your renewal premium when it comes around. Not free any more !!
  10. Your right that the sound only comes through the headphone sockets, but fit an FM transmitter to this, tune in your radio and there you go. Sound through all of your speakers. It's great !!
  11. KenS, (1) I've ordered a tonneau cover for mine but didn't enquire about the load net. Just out of interest how much are they asking for a net? I didn't bother with one because I hadn't used the one I had for my MK2 in the last 3 years! It's like a spiders web that just holds stuff down in the boot. (2) My Galaxy will be coming with the Sony 6CD Radio anyway so can't help you unfortunately. (3) Still manual unless you specify otherwise. Regards.
  12. Hey, you're right !! I couldn't bring myself to leave the Galaxy stable so I've bought a MK3 2.0TDCi Ghia instead and should get it within the next couple of weeks. The Galaxy may have its faults but I just can't beat its practicality. Wagon roll !!
  13. After 3 years of Galaxy ownership its now time for me to sell up and move on. Thanks to all for advice and info over the years, it's been a great help. Cheerio!!
  14. Considering that all the glowplugs are attached to a common busbar driven from a relay which AFAIK has no connection to the ECU from the "live" side, then I would say that would be quite an impressive feat. Also I doubt if VAG-COM will monitor the battery voltage dynamically during a start - which is what is important. Well an impressive feat it is then because VAG-COM can produce live data for each glow plug.
  15. Not true. VAG-COM can indicate battery voltage before and after the engine has been started. Also possible to identify if each glow plug is working.
  16. Yep I've had the same problem before and it's back again! Last time FORD changed the valve under warranty (would have cost
  17. I'm gonna say it stands for ACCESSORY. Wire this up to a ignition switched +12v.
  18. I appear to have a loose connection behind the drivers side headrest screen that is intermittently causing the picture to disappear. A quick tap of the headrest brings the picture back. Does anyone know how to get the screen out of the headrest without breaking anything?? I had a go at prising the plastic frame out but it wouldn't budge and I didn't want to resort to lethal force on it. Well not just yet anyway! Thanks.
  19. No replies from anyone yet but I have managed to get a free service from ford when I wrote and complained about their heater! :D You managed to get a free service? So that'll be an oil and filter change (with the wrong oil), a load of visual checks and a rubber stamp in the book. They bought your silence on the cheap.
  20. I use a brake wind-back tool. You can always get them from motor factors and Halfords etc....
  21. Both caliper pistons definitely wind clockwise with pressure to retract. Done mine a couple of weeks ago.
  22. I would get rid of the blue stuff the garage put in and replace with the purple stuff Ford gave you. I use the Super Plus Premium in mine as shown in your photo.
  23. I thought there were only two output tests for the booster heater, namely Blower and Metering Pump. I think I too would go with pulling it apart again and checking over my work just in case something is wrong.
