my air bag light is on at the moment, when i get five i will try it but its the first i have heard of this fix and as previosly said if it has a problem then it will come back on, however if you fix said problem and have no way off turning light of this could be the answer,

just changed my front pads at 32k and its an auto so very little engine braking and always on the brakes in town , so i would expect arround 40k plus (depending on how you drive), my advice take to rapid fit, kwick fit etc as an free brake check and see what they say, and get them to show you (you dont need to know what you are looking at but it lets them know that you are not just an easy touch !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

i would still suspect the gauge , get yourself a fuel can fill it up, put it in the car ignore the gauge and drive it till it stops , this has two advantages , 1 it will prove that the gauge is faulty , 2 the fuel level will be that low that you can change the tank gauge . there is another possability i dont know if it is available on vag com but there maybe a test for the dash gauge to prove or disprove its accuracy

good process of ellimmination would be to remove the antiroll bar links completely then roadtest, if noise go's then it could actually be the antiroll bar bushes themselves these wrap around the rollbar and attach it to the subframe assembly

3rd Brake Light
Topbloke replied to SharanTDICarat's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
usuall culprit will be a broken wire where the wire comes out of the tailgate , they get brittle with age, they pass through a rubber flexible crommet, and i bet it won't be long before another item in the tailgate fails -

Thinking Of Buying A Ghia 2.3 - Help!
Topbloke replied to a topic in Questions about the Ford Galaxy
ghia's are not fitted with cd player as standard however the wirring should be there in the drivers side rear cubby hole (the one in the boot) the cd player fits in the stowage bin above , you should have a 2006 radio that has an cd button on it if so then its just a case of bying a player and a fly lead so that the player will talk to the radio and remote on steering column . i did not have one on my ghia but have retro fitted a sony unit with said lead and have had no problems , as for fuel consumption i dare not work it out in town but motorway driveing this summer averaged 28 mpg and that was not hanging about trying to drive conservatively -
a clever ploy to tell the world that you motors for sale, well done  :) :)

Battery Not Holding It's Charge
Topbloke replied to greg_68's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
suspect a battery drain , if you know how much the battery is chargeing then you must have a voltmeter, does it have amps ? if so, if you dissconect the battery and connect the ampmeter in series ( positive to the terminal on battery, negative to the battery lead) you should get a reading approx 0.1 of an amp anything much more than this shows a drain, this is when it gets interesting anything from a interior light to a dodgy relay could be drawing the battery down , however with it taking two weeks to flatten the battery it would only be a small draw glove box light springs to mind if you need further guidence then pm me and i will try to help. :) :) -
you are also shouting, so you must be miffed

Cv Joint Cause Abs Light To Stay On ?
Topbloke replied to mustie's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
light should come on with the ignition, self test then go out, if it then comes on when driving then most likely a sensor problem if it stays on after ignition on then it has found a fault not related to a sensor . there has been many posts on this subject you could try a search !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -

Worrying Vibration Over 50mph
Topbloke replied to chriso's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
possible tyre out of shape, most likely a rear tyre as not showing through steering , put it in park hand brake off and jack one side up at a time and spin the wheel , look for the tyre "hopping" or a "flat spot" on the tyre -
rad cap , sorry exspansion bottle caps are a favorite source of problems , it may be worth a search as its been covered many many times !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
you do not have to replace them with c type tyres , the hand book should tell you what options you can use , this argument has raged on this forum many times try a search !
-
try a search, this has been covered many many times

not unuasal for the locks to cycle but only when wet under passenger seat, that said i would favour the broken wire thory usually drivers door
-
try passenger seat in the cubby hole !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

first to check is, is there any voltage at the switch connector, if answer yes then there is a problem between switch connector and rear lights, if no voltage then there is a fuse blown between switch and fuse board , if you are desparate to use the vehicle you could substitute a feed to the switch from the fuseboard , i am unsure if there is another fuse in the system, there are some fuses under passenger seat (the area that fills with water) that supply the rear but i do not think that these work the lights, as an also there are some times two switches fitted even though you dont have cruise

Front Footwell Carpet Removal
Topbloke replied to a topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Do you have a sunroof iirc the front drain pipes run down the a posts -
the later ps2 has been made slim line by removing the transformer from the unit itself and also a fan to keep it cool, so now you plug the transformer into a plug socket in the wall then plug the lead into the new ps2 ,there for if you put it in a car you only need 8.5 volts to run it
-
i am assumming that you are looking for an inverter, if its the latest ps2 i think they are already 8.5 volts and would just need a lead / adapter from the cigar lighter there are lots of them about which are selectable for voltage output and ends, try maplins or halfrauds

if you know some one with vag com then you could see what the temp is when driveing and compare with dash gauge but a flow test is much cheaper than just chucking a new rad at it
