A bit of a long shot but does anyone know of a common reason for the engine management light comming on on my wifes wonderfull french Megane. Only came on today but has had a bit of a lumpy tickover for a few weeks now but still goes well enough. Not happy about spending much money on the pile of poo so i thought id just ask on here to see if any you guys had a clue. Its a 1.6 16v by the way. May be time to pass it on to some other lucky punter me thinks. Adrian.

Hi tiny, thanks for the reply No i havnt spoke to BT about it as i only checked the speed last night. On one of the checks i done you had to put your post code and phone number in and it came back saying i live 3600 meters from the exchange and my line could only handle 1.5 MG anyway. Somedays its fine but others its a right pain in the backside I am a sky customer so i may give them a ring. Even if i cant speed it up i may be able to save a few

Ive just ran a couple of broadband speed checks via a couple of different sites and i am downloading at the amazing speed of less than 1MG. Thats what you get for living in the sticks i spose. Apart from moving house is there anything i can do to get going a bit faster. Cable isnt an option as we dont have it near us. Only had gas for 2 years. ;) May look into getting it cheaper as im paying 17.99 a month for upto 8 MG. Anyone know of a good deal going at the moment. Adrian.

Nowt wrong with a Volvo. I used to work for a company whos MD had a V70 T5 estate. What a car to drive that was. Glad i didnt have to pay to run it tho.

Ive heard loads of people moaning about the clock on the dash on the Mk 2 but i used to like it. On the Bamma its just below the rev counter which is useless for other passengers to see, or when you have 6 Twix wrappers, 3 empty crisp bags and a copy of the Daily sport on the dash you cant see it at all

Thats more like it. At least if you dent it you can blame it on the previous owner

Good old Fords. I hardly ever use all seven seats so i think i would be buying a spare wheel and tyre and keeping it in the boot.

Hi All Again, Its Been A While

Dont keep going on about STs. Im NOT jelous. Not sure which i would choose. The miles i do and all the school runs i spose it would have to be the derv but i do love the sound of the petrol. Many years ago i had a MK1 Mondeo with the 2.5 V6 with an induction kit fitted and it sounded the dogs danglers. -
Maz its your choice but more than one person has advised you against it. It will be thirsty, noisy, slow, and probably unreliable. You say you are willing to do the work on it. Have you tried working on these thing? Whilst it is pretty basic mechanics every thing is twice the size, twice the weight and twice as likely to go wrong. For someone who deos over 200 miles a week on school runs i would say you need something more reliable. Hows the kids gonna get to school if the Disco is off the road. I nearly bought one last year when i bought the Shogun but that was a TD5 and yes they are a lot better. Your choice hun but for

Yup thats just where i got to also. Start the car with the old key and turn it off again, then the new one will start and run the car but not once you lock and unlock it again Im off to the dealer again next week to see if i can sort out a cheaper non remote key just as a spare.
