Minimum Brake Pad Depth
searcher replied to u664541's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
To be honest i wouldnt go to Kwik thick if they were giving it away. The last time i went for a quote and that was a long time ago the ape behind the counter was still struggling with standing up. This was due to the fact he was still p****d from the night before. A fact he had great delight in bragging to the other apes who were all scratching thier arses at the time. So needless to say i didnt have much confidence in the young mans ability to work on my vehicle so i made for the door before the jungle VIP arrived -
Well i have no problem getting mine up so if you wanna come and have a tug on mine to see just how quick it comes up your very welcome

Not sure about the legal side of things but you need to read all the small print to try and decide how far "resonable" goes. My honest opinion is you may be on the limit but as i said thats only my opinion. Keep us all posted as to what the outcome is and GOOD LUCK.

New Car. Suggestions Please
searcher replied to dellybeanhead's topic in General Discussion and Nonsense
Well to be honest i never checked the nose weight. Ok thats not the correct way of doing things but with a bit of common sense whilst loading the van ive never(touch wood) had a problem. Ive got a nice long level driveway and i used to park it there to see how level the van was. One thing i always double checked was where in the van the wife put her makeup bag as anywhere other than over the axle would cause problems  -
Jeeeeezzzzzzz HOW OLD Happy birthday. The cards lost in the post.

Should I Replace My Mkiii Due To Clutch Problem
searcher replied to dellybeanhead's topic in MKIII Technical section
I cant see how a 1.8 can have clutch problems when a 2.0 doesnt. A clutch only burns if its slipping and the size of engine should make no difference. Then again we are talking about Ford here i spose. -
New Car. Suggestions Please

I dont know much about the the new shape Gal but why can you only tow 1400KG. I thought it was able to row more than that. Ive towed with a Mk 2 Gal and an Alhambra both in 115BHP form and they are both great at towing a 1500KG twin axle caravan. Ill swap your Gal for my Alhambra  -
oooo er ...... missus

Try pulling the handle whilst getting someone to push up and down on the bonnet. It may just be a bit stiff and not popping up when you pull the handle

Blimey it took a while for you to post :22: Welcome to the club

Ah so it was your house that plane crashed into the other day then

How do you get things to fit in a Disco that wont fit in the Gal. I thought about buying a Disco last year but thought the room inside was very disapionting for a car of its size. I must admit though i never keep the sixth & seventh seat in the Bamma so ive got more space than i know what to do with.

Anyone Seen These Wheels On Galaxy Or Sharan B4
searcher replied to georgel's topic in Customising your Ford Galaxy
Yup but i think youll find you need to go for 235 width and not the normal 225 width. -
Yup i have to agree. I used to have a 330d touring a boy what a motor. Build quality was far better than anything else ive ever owned. Its just a shame most are driven by w*****s. (Me being the biggest  )
-
Well ive not fitted one myself but i have taken an ignition live off the rear of the radio before now for various things.
-
Im just glad you didnt buy a Disco hun.
-
Well heres one i just found if its the sort your on about. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ford-galaxy-cargo-ne...1QQcmdZViewItem

I think Cargo nets r us sell them :( Joking aside im sure ive seen them on ebay.

It seems very unlucky for both sets to be warped but i suppose its possible. Trying a good quality set like Mintex may sort out the problem but it seems an expensive way of finding out but like you said everything else seems ok.

Bless you. Welcome to the forum its full of good information.

I remember when i sold my Gal last year and bought a Shogun 3.2 DID. It was a fab car for towing but toooooo gutsy for every day use and sounded more like a tractor. Within four months i was back in the seat of my current Alhambra which i love and dont miss the Shogun one bit. Youll be fine with the Volvo. By the way have you ordred the labrador for the back seat yet

Thanks for that. Looks a great web site, havnt seen it before. I was wondering about the coil packs as i changed two of them about six weeks ago and its had the lumpy tickover ever since. Maybe i disturbed one when i was swapping it around trying to find the faulty ones. Trouble is the wife wants to part ex it so not wanting to spend any money on it but need to get the light off first. I can get the coil packs for about

Cheers, will do

There is no history with it so hard to tell when it was last done so theres a good chance it does. There is a seperate service warning light on the dash though so i would have thought that would have come on if that was the case
