Is that a good sign when there are no Gals around at breaker's yard? And as for Ebay, I use it all the time for everything.

I've just bought some from Ebay. From that last reply on here does it mean it actually coats the surface of the screen with something that could possibly be a problem getting off if you dont like it ?

one question about Rainx. If you put it on, can it also be removed easily if you dont like it?

Heated Screens & Tom Tom's
Davetheref replied to NikNak's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Likewise with a Mio 168 running Tom Tom 5. I have mine positioned at the bottom right of screen and just using the built in attenna. Always get a good signal and have never needed to use the attenna extension lead supplied. -
I suspect it isn't a first post by NNIKK, excellent as it may be. Would I be right in stating he was NikpV in a previous life?

Actually, the warm up times stated sound about the same for mine too. Always around 3-5 miles to warm up. On very cold days I normally leave the car running for 10 mins outside the house first.

Bloody good job MO4 I remember when my wife passed after 4 goes and she couldn't stop crying over the phone when telling me. I couldn't stop crying either thinking of the added expense.

Each time I used them I got a good part ex deal and it was all over the phone without them checking the state of my car first. I remember parking up, after getting there to pick my new Gal up, and they didn't even check my old car then. Very trusting people although I do look after my cars. Not sure about discounts though as when you part ex its all in the price with that. I would think its still worth the drive from Sunderland or you could wait a few months until Sunderland FC play at Leicester in the league next season. (Sorry, couldn't resist it)

Pretty sure its in the handbook somewhere. I have seen it but I'm at work now so cant check.

I'd say give them a call as I'm not sure. I didn't mind driving to them (and also I couldn't wait to get my car) and only took an hour and a half or so. They have always seemed very helpful when speaking to them. Good luck

I'm just down the road from Welwyn, in Stevenage and just took mine into Gates Fordfor its 20000\2 year service. Maybe we are just lucky in this area (after reading all the horror stories on here about other Ford garages) as I cannot praise Gates highly enough. Great customer service, courtesey car whilst mine was in and even a phone call during the day to let me know how they were doing. I have just taken my son's Fiesta in there after a cowboy mate of his buggered the radio up fitting new speakers in and the guy at Gates diagnosed the problem after spending about an hour taking it out and testing it and at the end wouldn't charge at all for his services. Thats got to be a first!!

Radio\cd Big Problem
Davetheref replied to Davetheref's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Yep, tried that and since posting have been to Gates Ford and they confirmed that the unit has had its amp fried. Expensive lesson for my son. He wanted to buy another from Ebay but I talked him into going to Ford this time. Dearer I know but at least he will get some sort of gurantee. -
Sorry, I know this is for a Fiesta but I'm sure more people look at the Galaxy forum (Anyway, I have a Gal). My son has a mark 6 Fiesta with the built in radio\cd player. In his wisdom, he decided to get a mate to fit some extra large speakers into the parcel shelf and his mate wired them up to the rear of the player connecting into the front speaker output cables. Neither his radio or cd now works and he just gets a sort of knocking noise coming from the left front and rear speaker. I have disconected all of the wiring that this cowboy put in and still the same. His radio has power and shows the stations tuned so it is not the code. Someone at my work says he may have blown the 'ICU's' on the unit by crossing the speaker cables. Can anyone out there confirm this and does it mean a new unit? Many thanks
