In my 130 ps I seem to get around 500 miles easily on each tank without the light coming on and that is mainly motorwayish driving. My 115 before that used to get around 600 miles per tank.

Andy Shouldn't you now be be in an BMW forum or something instead of roughing it with all us oil burning oiks etc. They will strike you off if you're seen mixing with us poor relations. :P :P :D :D :D :D -

Whoops, insurance company? knew i forgot to do something when I fitted it. Anyway, I got it from Ebay from a guy called Redituning. Just checked on there now and he has quite a few for sale. Just do a search for tuning modules. -
I suspect the wind noise is a deliberate ploy by Fraud to take your mind off the dodgy air con. :D :D

Tuning Module For Galaxy Deisel 130ps
Davetheref replied to Davetheref's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Hiya Yep you're right , it is plug and play but the trouble I had was where exactly to plug it in. As soon as I got the engine cover off I loked everywhere and couldn't figure out where to put it. In the end I sent Redi a picture of my engine and he returned it with the area I needed ringed in red. Found it straight away then as it was in front of me the whole time. Nick from Redi was very helpful and patient the whole process. Dave -
Tuning Module For Galaxy Deisel 130ps

Hijacker Glad to hear someone else is going for this and ,yes, still no problems and runs great. When i visted my brother last month, he has a company Galaxy with the same spec as mine and he couldn't believe the difference when I let him take it for a spin. Must remember to remove it when the first service is due as I don't what Fraud would do if they spot it even though from what I've read on here about their servicing they wouldn't spot a Jersy cow if attached one to the engine. I'd be interested to know what version 2.2 does above the one I have. I forgot to ask you. Do you have the 130 bhp engine? Dave -
Could be a collectors item in the future. I can see it now. The only Ford Galaxy made without the sun visor lights. Worth a mint!!!!! :( :D :D

Fitting An Fm Modulator
Davetheref replied to Porkstone's topic in I.C.E (In Car Entertainment) Discussion
Mark This is the exact model I have and it works great. I know it is a US site but they do ship to the UK if you ask them. I actually bought mine whilst in the States. http://www.radioshack.com/product.asp?cata...ct%5Fid=12-2053 Hope that helps Dave -
My 53 Ghia has them. It has a sliding cover over the mirror and when that is slid over, a small light that is in the roof, above the visor comes on.

Fitting An Fm Modulator
Davetheref replied to Porkstone's topic in I.C.E (In Car Entertainment) Discussion
I know we have had a thread or two on this before about the time I bought myself an FM modulator from Radio Shack. I've found that its more convient to have an external portable type one which uses either batteries or its own ciggie lighter connection. It is very small and can be used with ANY audio output socket on any device. My boy has used it on his Ipod and we tend to use it for the on board DVD in the car so we can have the sound through all the speakers. -
Power Box Tdi
Davetheref replied to paulmpaciorek's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Must admit that I had to send a digital piccie to the seller that I bought it from for him to show me where to fit it as I just couldn't see from the instructions. As it turned out, it was right in front of my eyes the whole time and took about 30 seconds to fit. Its as easy as just uplugging one cable, plug that into the chip and plug the other side back in. -

Loads of mixed views, particularly on how they may fool the buyer. I fitted one on my 130 bhp about 6 weeks ago and yes, it really did make a difference (well, I pretty sure it didn't fool me  Loads more power and torque and I have havn't had any problems so far in the wet or otherwise. If anything, I tend to lay of the gas more and I also get much better MPG's. Great tool. -
What Wives Do (normally)
Davetheref replied to Davetheref's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
So it sounds like the bottom line is :- You can't fix them yourself rubbing them down etc. Get a company to maybe machine them Or its new wheels from Ebay I'm just so suprised that I can't do anything myself. I was going to try just rubbing the gouges down to take the sharp edges off and then maybe treating them with something ( laquer, silver paint?) to stop it rusting. Thoughts anyone????? -
Cant believe it. Kerbed my Gal yesterday and scrapped\gouged three of my spokes. Is there anything I can do to them using T-cut, emery cloth etc. without buggering them up even more or is a new wheel jobby.

MrT I've just ordered a Mitac PDA and thought it would only be able to stick on the windscreen but I noticed in your picture its stuck on the dash itself. Any thing special needed to do that because the dash isn't a smoth surface and not sure the holder supplied will stick. Thanks in advance. P.S. What make PDA do you have and how good is the sat nav on it?

Sat Nav For Galaxy ?
Davetheref replied to Davetheref's topic in I.C.E (In Car Entertainment) Discussion
One last question for Iain (I hope). I noticed on the Mio 168 website link you supplied that the Mio has 2 opptions with sat nav software, the Mio in car satelite navigation software and/or TomTom nav3 software. Much the sameness? or is one better than the other? Its only a slightly different price. They also charge extra for setting up GPS and for an extra memory card. Do I need to have this or is it something I can do myself. Thanks -

Sounds like the PDA option with TomTom is the one to go for. -
Sat Nav For Galaxy ?

Thanks Iain. What made you go for the PDA option as opposed to the other TomTom I've seen which looks a bit like a small Aplle computer. -
Sat Nav For Galaxy ?
Davetheref replied to Davetheref's topic in I.C.E (In Car Entertainment) Discussion
Whoops. Just been through all of the sat nav stuff in the topic area. Looks like it pretty much covers it. But still one question. What is the best and easiest installed unit out there or is it really down to personal choice. -
I'm sure this has been covered before but I am just after some advice. I have a 2003 130bhp TDI Galaxy with factory fitted DVD. How easy is it to have a sat nav fitted. Is it something I could do myself, as I've seen lots of these Tom Tom kits on ebay but am not sure I want something just stuck to the dash or windscreen. Any of you guys or gals know of good websites or can anyone supply personal experience of fitting these. Thanks
