There are probably 2 drain tubes fitted to the front of the sunroof that run down the A posts and drain out by the front wheels. There may also be some at the rear of the sunroof. Check to see if these are blocked.

MM, is the canister a serviceable item or a vehicle lifetime one?

The tensioner is the very top pulley in the system. You are lucky if the belt is in one piece if the the tensioner is seized it wouldn't be for much longer. There is no real danger if it snaps whilst driving (like mine did) you will lose all your aux services i.e PS, aircon, water pump etc. If it snaps you will notice straight away with the dissapearance of the PS and the engine water temp rocketing. It has nothing to do with the engine timing. Next time you have a problem (if you have time) ask on here before booikng it in. The guys on here probably know more than Ford/VW and will undoubtedly save you shed loads of dosh like everyone else on here has. This really was a simple job and could have saved you

Sounds like the control unit under the front passenger seat maybe water damaged. Instead of trying to frig the back door why don't you try fixing the complete central locking system, it's not a major job. I am afraid you can't they are sandwiched between the multiple layers of your windscreen, it is a very common fault on all makes of car and is caused by water ingress between the sheets usually because they have put the busbar too close to the edge of the window.

The connections of the wire to the busbar running along the top and bottom edges of the screen maybe corroded. I think most windscreens are split into two sections left and right. I guess if you get a chip in your windscreen or better still a crack you will have to have it replaced. :D

Hi all, I am in need of window regulators (the whole frame and the motor) for both front electric windows. A trip to the local scrappy is planned for Saturday morning. Does anyone happen to know if a: mark 1 and mark 2's units are the same? b: are front and rear electric windows units interchangeable i.e will drivers side passenger door be ok for the drivers door. c: are the motors interchangeable from side to side as the passenger motor is ok but the mechanism is not and the drivers side motor is sha**ed but the frame is ok, could I swap the motors over? Cheers as always.

Ditto, I had this, I would take it to a garage and ask them to check to see if the tyre has gone out of shape. This happened on one of mine and when they showed me it was quite disturbing to think I had being doing 70mph on it with the kids sitting above it. As soon as it was off you could see it was not right. Perhaps this highlights the reinforced tyres neccesity. Maybe mine wasn't when it was fitted originally.
