tekman im not saying the brake switch is at fault(although who knows) was just trying to give you an example of something that is a really small item can cause no end of trouble,read up on the forum your be amazed on what problems that and the maf can cause,im just clutching at straws as to what the problem may be,and hopefully keeping your hard earned in your pocket.

long shot but have you investigated around the pollen filter area?

THATS BECAUSE FORDS DO NOT HAVE A BLOODY CLUE WHEN IT COMES TO THIS OR MOST PROBLEMS BECAUSE ITS A VW i had all of this when i bought mine,they even had the cheek to tell me that if i myself went and obtained parts from vw then they would fit them BUT WOULD NOT GUARANTEE THEM HOW F****ING DUMB IS THAT????i said to them where do they get there parts from the reply was ford direct and i said where do they get them from vw was the response and then repackaged :o i do believe that vw do some kind of a service kit(or did)go to them i bet there be a lot more helpful then fords.then if it is fubared you have a choice of leaving it or having a look on ebay,dont forget to search under sharan/alhambra/galaxy and see what gets thrown up. iirc the glow plug costs in the region of
