i did notice in the listing about have them fitted by professionals,and if i had a spare 150 i think there be worth a punt,but as crimbo is looming i think not,still think they would look nice.

We get around 35mpg on the short school run, and about 42 on a 100mile journey. Glad I didn't buy a petrol now! shouldve hung on for the manuel,lol i get anything between 30-40 mpg in town and up to 59 mpg on a run. :angry:

i suggest take it back and get htem to sort it.

dunno but there is quite a few mk1 mirrors etc on ebay at the mo.

ive never heard that,only with brake fluid as its meant to be harsh to all and sundry???? but you nver know.

they sometimes come up on ebay,but the concensus seems to be the best and probably the cheapest place is vw dealers.

are you sure its the alternator and not the battery itself? apparently batteries when they start to fail do all sorts of weird and annoying things? have you had the alternator checked for output iirc its around 14 volts, do a search on here for more info.

have you pulled the seal back abit to see if theres any crud built up?also iirc in either corner of the sunroof are drainage pipes,might be woth gently poking something down them to see it these are blocked aswell.

iirc its a timing chain on yours?

think it might be on the central locking/alarm unit,its either under the passenger seat or up under the dash somewhere. i too have the same problem,but i did have a remote key. so i bought 1 of ebay,and a new blank and went to timpsons to get it cut iirc about 8 quid,fords wanted

imo,the most important thing to do is change the oil and filter. going by a thread on here about changing the fuel filter (seatkids opinion)and the 1 i went with,why change it every year? dont forget its now getting colder so no doubt if its working then your booster heater may have started kicking in and this will use a bit more fuel. i too can only get 35-40 mpg round town,but have had it up to 59 mpg on a motorway @65 mph. the link saif gave is the seller i bought my oil extractor from,even though it took me an age to do the oil change,think that was more to do with confidence then anything else,i did seem to get the same ammount of oil out as what i ended up putting in. point to remember if you do get 1 make sure you unravel the pipes 1st before using or as like me your be sucking a lot of bloody air out lol and no oil.

sparky paul,dont think i can add any more on this debate very detailed m8,apart from agreeing with you over the voyager,i was very surprised when a m8 pulled up in his and looked at his tyres and they were not xl,was a bit surprised a huge car like that shod with normal tyres.

we were so poor, that if we didnt wake up with an errection on christmas day then we had sod all to play with.

lol,on another forum i frequent,what i want to know is? does the aircon work? does it come with all keys? and the code for the radio? and does (if fitted)the booster heater work? OH AND IS THE STIG INCLUDED IN THE PRICE? :D :)

you may find that the sods in the factory have fitted any size they wanted.had this problem myself on the old mk1 i had,and on a renault laguna.
