Protected no claims Not realy got my head around this? Is it worth paying the extra for? If I had a claim and at the end of the year wanted to move to another company. Could I take all of my no claims bonus with me because I had protected it. Or would I have to stay with the same company because that is where the protection was from. If this is the case is it not just a way of tying you in? If you don,t take protected no claims out do you lose all claim free years in one stroke? With any company

I would have to agree I don't think its the tow ball but the electrics that get picked up Mine are behind the line of the bumper. No problem.

I have had this twice. Mine was the brake pedal switch. I could turn the engine on and off to clear it. it happened about half an hour into a journey. You don't have to change switch. the second time I just cleaned it and everything was ok. Have you checked this out yet?

Just for info. does your glow plug light stay on all the time? and does it come on at start up?

I took mine back the CC worked only when it wanted. They cahnged the switch! It came back with the switch all wonky to the rest of the air bag cover. It went back again and came with a whole new inner wheel no problem since.

I think you will find that the mk1 TDi you have to change the cam belt every 60 000. I know that the new mk2 is 40000 I am sure you have read about the problems with the AC so check it out?

Not sure if any have aircon. Blacked out windows would help cool the car. It can get hot inside with the sun out! If you are doing alot of miles then The TDi is best, but not sure if you can pick one up for the right price? We had a P reg aspen with not many extras on it no AC But had the sunroof. We still loved it very little went wrong apart from front links and a dodgy eletric front window. How far are you willing to travel. If you cast your net wider you may get more choice?

Had to use mine today. I did find that if tension is not put on it. I found it could tangle and instead of undoing could start to tighten? as the wire got caught and tangled. New tyre puncture makes you spit!

I seem to remember a picture of insulating the pipe work? Or was that just for the heater that runs to the back unit heating the rear passengers?

When I had a 90bhp. the switch on the dash would turn the control unit on just above the rear passanger on the roof lining? I thought it was so you could have the switches pre set and turn them on and off from the dash? This heater is for keeping the rear passengers warm. I think that the aux heater everyone is talking about is on theMK2 As far as I know it is not fitted to the MK1. Altought in your hand book your type of heater may be reffered to as an Aux heater?
