couple of things - matt_jr is in tyour part of the world and for a small consideration he may be able to read your codes for you - try pm'ing him the lack of lights/sounds of blowers may indicate a blown fuse/loose electrical connection which may also render the flaps which divert air around the system u/s On a separate note - how long does it take to get up to temperature on these chilly mornings, if it takes a long time (>15 mins) have a feel(carefully) of the little exhaust pipe for the aux heater to see if it is working. I think you have a couple of problems contributing here

needs low ambient temperature AND cold engine to fire up.

A thought - given the mileage (and BD's post) wonder if one of the throttle position tracks is starting to wear but again why is it intermittent

check your email - talked to Mumof4 and I think shes sorted it

whenever I see hestitation - incline - tdi I think MAF - pretty good mileage - can't think why it should be intermittent but worth a look at I think - try unplugging the MAF and running the car

windows defender - microsoft is free and (spit spit) seems to work quite well

not noticed that myself - if you use the remotre to open to unlock the doors and you don't open one within 30 secs (or so) it relocks them - it assumes you have accidently set off the unlock signal on the remote - is this what you are referring to ?

umm I know you have petrol but I wonder if this could be your problem on the alternator

Quake 3 multiplayer was fine but its single player mode - constant deathmatch wasn't particularly gripping, more recently Far Cry was good in this genre

the external part of the cable was probably caught up on its housing - fiddling allowed it to slip back so releasing the tension on the inner wire and lever :lol:
