  6. no problem the aux heats the cooling system to enable the engine to reach normal operating temp quicker (side effect is that the cabin can also be warmed quicker ) May be the glowpug (common fault) - click on the link in my signature for the faq and look at the first post (aux heater) would help to mention your car details in future (after 30 posts you can put them in your signature)
  7. Engine fitted is probably 1.9 tdi 115ps PD oil must be to vw 505.01 spec nothing else will do (others may/may not stop damage to injectors) this means Ford Formula SD oil or Quantum PD or Millers XFE pd may be others but they must say 505.01 (not 505.02 or 505.00) Ignore a dealer that says otherwise, oh annd by the way did I mention the 505.01 spec vag-com is a bit of software with hardware interface (OBD2 Spec) which communicates with the modules in the car, an unregistered version can read faults and setting and limitted resettings (will be corrected here) a registered version (costing an extra

  17. I wonder we ought to implement that idea about keeping a list of those with vag-com who would be prepared to read codes for others. I reckon we would need Forum name Location distance prepared to travel payment (if any) e.g bottle of plonk .. whether its a registered version (affects functionality) could then pm the member for arrangements - have to work out something for trainees though, what do you all think?
