  1. no if its the mk2 then two working (programmed) keys can code a third
  2. there was some drivel about security issues at some point, its still offered however when I looked at the configurator recently (last couple of weeks)
  3. at some point you have to draw the line so I thought I'd try it - as gregers said with the deal its
  4. appears so - I had all the wheels off at the weekend to have a look at pad and disc wear, I cant believe that the rear discs have lasted 85k just above 8mm now - fronts were changed about 40k ago but have hardly worn (were 26mm now 25.3 measured with a micrometer in a dozen places
  5. well probably not the minimum some wear will be left - just had it come on and there is still 3 to 4mm left on the rears (9 to 10mm on the front)
  6. I think this is it
  7. see pm reply but yes still driveable if embarrassing , probably needs a glowplug but if its the first time its done it this year it may clear up you can pull the plug on it to temporarily disable it ...... see here
  8. some people ehh....... ;) :P :D :D
  9. Its the aux heater I presume - have a look in the faq (click on faq in my sig) BTW Post moved from the 'include in faq thread'
  10. I've been quoted
  11. :)
  12. and lets us know,I can't recall any body reporting here that they've found someone to program the mk2 pats and it would be useful to know
  13. looks ok to me but they will probably charge you
  14. includes removal of turbo IIRC
  15. was this a case of seals going and engine oil being burnt as fuel
  16. that will depend on the reason for locking out e.g. Glowplug open circuit errors do not lock it out but errors like Flameout do need resetting, there is a list somewhere on the forum ... link to non-start faults which shouldn't cause lock out
  17. that will depend on the reason for locking out e.g. Glowplug open circuit errors do not lock it out but errors like Flameout do need resetting, there is a list somewhere on the forum ...
  18. check under the nearside rear door - you should find a lump attached to a small exhaust pipe - pictures on the thread dave linked for you
  19. vag-com - interface/software to talk to the car (without the use of a hammer  )
  20. well you could slice one of them open  your problem is going to be the programming ... you are going to have to get ford to match your keys for which they will probably charge you
  21. if the temp sensor(realy is just a switch) is still in its original position then you don't really need the wiring diagram you just need to switch that wire in series with the temp switch
  22. I know I just didn't want the OP to rule it out i it was worse  umm aux heater - ???
  23. it is/used to be near the wiper - passenger side but IIRC you have to remove the black shroud below the windscreen to access it - mod is simple for what you want just cut one of the wires and extend to a simple switch somewhere inside.... I dont think the aux heater is doing all the damage to your mpg, a cold engine is not helping .....
