  1. welcome :16: umm is it really a 2.3 I thought that early on they were 2.0l (edit or was that sharan/seat derivatives) engine out to change IIRC ... expensive
  2. there is some variation in the outside temp for firing up - some reports up to 11 degrees - rest of it sounds normal though - could always locate the temp sender(actually a temperature dependent switch rather than a continuously varying output) on the wiper arm linkage and disconnect it - heater should not fire up then
  3. ah that would make sense since the picture of the sharan earlier in the thread is a lhd showing the clm on the lhs
  4. sounds like either a loom problem in passenger/drivers door or as leccy says solenoid problem I know which I would be investigating first look here and here for mending
  5. have you checked the wires in the door loom for a)wires broken inside intact insulation  broken insulation leading to a short drivers door loom in rubber boot is the most likely, followed by others including the tailgate, this is a well known problem and can cause some very odd effects - what problem are you trying to solve?? even if you have checked these its worth checking again since opening and closing doors can change the situation
  6. doubt if its under the seat - IIRC this changed in 1998 - you should find the parking sensor control unit under there, is it a ghia?
  7. you probably need 3 posts to download - reply to this and try again
  8. thats as expected - you can program each key separately - rolls the code to the next one but to get both working you have to program them both in the same session (as per sks post in the faq) I assume from your later post that this is what you did to get both working
  9. according to manual(ford and vw) and experience of all here you need 2 to program a 3rd (for the PATS system)+ ... will be interesting to see how they do it - please let us know. Only need one for the RC part - as all the posts on here say
  10. and .... how did it go ???
  11. its already on here somewhere although the original was canadian lighthouse not british IIRC - but as madbaz says funny anyway
  12. Yes if you only had one key then ford would charge for at least 30mins to program but given that the seat dealer tried to program it FOC I thought that your special relationship with them would make it cheaper
  13. why dont you buy a stanard (non remote) key from seat(ford charged me
  14. not that desparate ... really
  15. by the time you have someone in the middle seat and/or bike rack /bikes on the back the rear view mirror is like a chocolate teapot anyway - I now use the door mirrors anyway - you get used to it very quickly
  16. it streams media
  17. ah possibly global opening(never tried from boot) - if so it does show you have some wiring problems - breaks in looms in the door boots or even shorts where the insulation is shot
  18. possibly a faultykey/chip then
  19. take them apart and compare the numbers on the pats chip - we have seen this before - can seat supply just the chip - since you are sorting out the immobiliser the frequency of the remote central locking transponder shouldnt make any difference
  20. easiest thing to try is the glowplug
  21. obd plug - for vag-com wds 2000 for diagnostic purposes
  22. when you lock using the remote do you get a delayed second sound from any of the door locks - on a galaxy that may indicate a short/broken wire in the loom to the door ?? possibly similar on the mondeo
  23. I assume you meant to say plucking :o
  24. i didnt think that DOS (and so DOS programs) know anything about USB (not heard of any drivers)
