ah-ha any chance of getting someone to operate window while you try easing it down? There was a recent thread where someone was in a similar situation with the window to far down to remove glass, he took it to a garage and they ....... in his own words may be worth a go
If you lose a key you will have to go to fords to have another one programmed, its worth getting another key cut and with your 2 keys program the third so if you lose a key you can always program another - it takes two keys to program another one :D
yes - the PATS (immobilzer) is separate from the remote, daughter has probably lost the pats chip out of the key - remote would still work but car wouldn't start with it. You need a new chip and program (not remote part) to pats system. Two separate procedures for programming - one for remote and one for pats see the faq you want to try mkii pats programming in case the chip is there and has become corrupted (how I don't know) but worth a try providing you have 2 working keys - if not its off to the stealers :D
If he's still trading on ebay I would probably send it back or get a quote from somewhere to professionally repair it (unless there is a common simple mechanical problem with these) and make a judgement of cost against the risk of returning it - who did you get it from on ebay?
