Tdi Cam Belt Keeps Jumping! Then Wont Start
NikpV replied to Brookydave's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
are the other pullies ok -we had this with a polo with worn ?????????? can't remember which pulley - would slip and take teeth out of the belt regularly (luckily not an interference engine give the number of times it happened at 60mph :16: ) In the end the water pump seized so probably it was getting stiff and putting extra strain on the belt -
There is a wanted thread in the general discussion board - why don't you post there ????????????????????????????????????? after reading the instructions of course

Glow Plug Warming Times

It always comes on no matter how high the engine temperature (at least on ours) presumably as a minimun test showing that the bulb works -
Glow Plug Warming Times
NikpV replied to sanjsanj's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
its certainly like that on my MKII under normal conditions - it will stay on longer in very chilly conditions, I used to wonder if it only felt that it stayed on longer when sitting in an icebox waiting but it definitely gets to around 5 sec on occasions -

Its now almost as fast as it was since clearing the cookies, I did it on my home machine last night and my work one today, I timed a couple of operations straight after turn on a couple of times (to ensure caching wasn't playing a part) and then cleared the cookies, turned off an tried again - timings were much shorter. There is the odd hesistancy but that may be down to route/contention or other internet issues.

Did it have many to catch up with ? I suggest you then run it until the next error turns up although I was speaking to a friend who had similar problems but he said they went away after fixing his swap file size (virtual memory) rather than allowing windows to control it dynamically - note I said went away after I did not say cure it.

see bits I added to above post then

You should be able to use microsoft update on microsoft site to keep your sp2 installation up to date with all of the hotfixs - how did you upgrade to sp2 ? Here you go - try this link Microsoft update you will need to install their active x (alternative is a pain and I can't remember the javascript) and as long as you have a legal copy of windows it should automatically update you. Then we wait again
-
Here you go then - PC under heavy load Hotfix required This specifically applies to windows server 2003 not to xp but It might be well if you checked that your xp installation is up to date with the hotfixes. I know you upgraded to sp2 a few weeks back, have you installed all the hotfixs for sp2 yet? I note from the page that this is specifically when browser windows are open - you had at least 3 (if not more) given your info, it appears that windows tries to access some memory which is present in your swap file (paged out) - this appears to be related to the issues you had last time. It looks more and more like issues with your swap file on disk, the hard drive or the memory that the swap file has been written back to.

Parking sensors There are two lugs/tangs at the back which need to be spread apart and then push the sensor in from the outside, often needs a bit of a wiggle because of dust etc fouling the tube
-
Oh and by the way - have a look at this thread - removing handles - re-pinning locks Dont know the outcome yet
-
I think that there is a little lug in the mechanism which breaks off/wears. If you want to replace the locks you have two options 1) replace locks and have a different key for those doors 2) replace locks and get an auto locksmith to re-pin the locks so the other keys still work In neither case will the PATS be involved - this only applies to th key put in the ignition lock. Given the age of the car you probably don't need a red key - this system was early and pre 1997, after then a two key pats sysytem was used (you need two programmed keys to program a third and subsequent keys. Several posts recently about the locks just turning, I wonder if its possible to get an auto locksmith to repair rather than replace the locks - out of the question for ford though

Ahh just deleted cookies set by the site (on index page) and its speeded up considerably - cheers :20:

OOps - where on earth did this quote come from ??????????????? almost imposssible now on my Hx4700 - I've given up Bend two bits of coathanger about 15cm long into two U shapes, thie distance between the ends should be about the same as the two holes on each side of the head unit. Push a U into either side and push the U's apart - this should retract the two springs holding the head unit in - slide the unit forward and out. Can sometimes use the U's to pull it out but if stiff it will slip (proper tool have notches filed in them) get a finger in the cassette slot or similar -

no problem - thanks for the quick service :20:

Is it just me or do others feel the same, since the upgrade it seems that the site is less responsive and slower to display posts, edit and adding replies seems particularly bad, I get this on both my 2M at home and also on the 12M pipe at work ????? anybody else :20:
