hello . my mk2 tdi wont start properly . went to move it last night and just turned over and over , eventually stop appeared on dash . left for awhile re-tried same again fired up but stopped . started again after turning over for a minute or so . car runs with no problems when started but just turns over for a long time ...any help gratefully accepted thank you

Halfords do a free refridgerant check where they connect a pressure gauge to the air-con charging point. This effectively tests your pump/compressor - and it's free! thank you

no mustbe single no vents in roof ,when i put new climate control panel in the windscreen wipers worked eratic . put the old one back in all back to normal ???? engine revs dont die down sorry also presume you have to press the auto button on panel for air con to work ,car is mk2 tdi ghia

hello does anyone know how to check if pump works on air con , also climate control panel lcd not clear bought another off ebay but when i install other controls in the car become faulty any ideas need the cold helpplease

does anyone now how to take tdi engines out , ie does it slot out from bottom or does front ofcar have to come off

hello again got a little query , have just found my gal has chucked a vale well most of it anyway ,been looking for a new /second hand engine but keep being told that if i dont get the right one itwont run as will not marry up to my ecu . car is a 99 t reg turbo diesel . will a newer motor fit eg a 115bhp model or do i have to stick to the same year bhp etc , any help on this subject helpfull or if anyones got asmashed car i can swap bits off thank you

They can tell its been reprogrammed (remapped/chipped) - whether they would do that is debatable. Perhaps only in a serious or costly claim. Only the latest ECU's in the latest cars (certainly not Mk1 or Mk2 Shalaxys) store (some) black box information (e.g. speed, vehicle status, airbag accelerometer data etc) - I've never heard of this kind of information being used by Insurance companies although EU legislation is in the pipeline to mandate this. thank you for the reply john

hello could anyone tellme what information is stored on the ecu in the galaxy , reason if i chip my car and have an accident can the insurance people take the brain out and tell what the car has been doing or had done to it thank you

and....Are you sure you don't just have a duff battery? swopped batterys around off my other galaxy and still didnt turn over ?

it does turn over just doesnt want to do it of the starter, dont want to try towing it off in case it totally gooses it

yees dead all lights on dash work but now wont turn over , totally gutted

hello , it used to run but on three pots with a banging at the bottom end only when revved , now wont start clicked on starter but thats stopped as well , timing belt done 18000 miles since replaced , not sure what u mean by the beeping ? engine done 111000 miles thank you john

been charging battery which seems to have cured it and now central locking works , car wont start so reckon goosed , anyone know if all galaxy engines fit each other . mine tdi 90 on a 99 plate thanks john

i have a 2001 115 tdi that drve with no throttle the other day turned of and back on it was perfect you think same prob ?

hello little problem with my 99 tdi galaxy , the glow light on the dash is flashing , it sometimes does this if turn car off and back on quicly , which i did , but stops after car turned off for 10 or so minutes , this time hasnt cleared , when i bought the car it flashed and turned out that brake lights werent working new fuse problem gone , brake lights are working , tottally at a loss any help gratefully accepted thank you

hi again have read in forum about fault diag on the galaxy and people doing it themselves , does anyone know how and where you can buy the program and connection cable , as ford said they would charge me 80 quid just to connect up . dont ever seem to have that kind of money ,,, thank u john
