will have a look tom . injector pipe weeps a bit of diesel , is there supposed to be a seal on top? [pipe that sits on top of injector }

hello again . put lift prime pump on car and got the car to run but had to use the pump to prime the diesel into the engine pump , why will it not draw diesel from the filter on its own without the need for help ? with the prime pump i can get fuel from tank to filter . filter to car but not through the diesel pump . really baffling me know . help me please . if had hair id be pulling it out

hello follow up on my car . finally got engine to turn over on key immobiliser problem . next question is how do i prime the pump {99 tdi } been stood a long time while puting engine in . turn over but no fuel can be seen in clear pipe . does just cranking it over prime the lines and pump ......?

just an extra note there is another relay 109 and this one is clicking . help please its doing my head in now , why wont this car start

can anyone tell me does a 99 reg tdi have this so called relay 30 ? . taken mine to bits as described in the forum but no 30 or 167 , there r 2 100s and a 185 . help please would really love to get the old girl running again . thank you

started perfect upto no1 valve let go . second hand engine in all my aux parts pump etc . car will turn over with wire to starter but not from key. no fuel getting to the pump when cranking over . just wondered if this relay stops all the electric from key-starter and pump in tank

hello have done the last hour reading about relay 30/27 . everybody says this is what stops car from starting , my question is does the car turn over when this fails or does it cut out everything ie no turning over . thanks

hello have a couple of problems with my treg mk1 gal prob 1 . turn ignition on no starting , power getting to key but not to the starter . [ starter works when powered direct from battery ] prob 2 . might be related . pump in the fuel tank is not working again no power . have just put new engine in and tryin to get it running again but these faults r stopping it any help gratefully accepted ... thank you very much

Perfectly normal, you are in trip "1" which resets after roughly 3 hours of inactivity - ie, your journey data. If you press the reset button (the one on the underside of the stalk) breifly, you'll move to trip "2" which wont reset. thank you

hello does anyone know if its normal for the trips and mpg etc to be reset on starting the car on a morning , it doesnt happen at any other time just first start seems to set back to 0 , all red lcd goes to --- 3 lines ? thanks john

hello . not sorted intermittent fault , when not working i can put my finger over back left sensor and just get continuous tone so presume that its faulty . but only when it feels like it . cheers john sorry forgot to say checked out the link and was very usefull thank s very much

hello im having a few probs with the parking aid on my mk2 galaxy . when put in reverse there is a different beeping from the back of the car and the button on the centre console now flashes . no noise when getting close to an object . thank you ,john

hello again 90bhp tdi engine , got a second hand engine for my car with no belt on but when ive put the belt and tensioners on to the marks in haynes , tried to turn with ratchet but feels like catching . thought cam was 180 out so moved it but to no help . does anyone know what im doing wrong please ........ have had aread on some other topics but dont seem to answer my puzzles

Complete tosh. When car companies produce higher power variants, all sorts of things are changed or modified - cylinder head,valves,upgraded cooling, camshaft profiles etc as well as brakes, clutch etc upgraded. It is NOT just a software remap. Read the small print - remap companies ALWAYS disclaim all responsibility for ANY damage to your car. (They'd be fools not to and soon out of business) You do it entirely at your own risk. Remapping a little, light Fabia is one thing but a heavy lumbering Shalaxy that requires more power and torque on a constant basis is another. Enjoy your remap while your car survives. At 200,000 miles I expect you'll see it into an early grave. And if you do start to have "overheating" problems, then please don't sell it on to an unsuspecting person without telling them about the remap. read and taken onboard all replies , many thanks i dont think ill bother sounds to get a bit more involved than i first thought , but thats why i asked the question , thank you all for the help and my galaxy might live another 200000 miles with a bit of luck . thanks again Oh,...and do tell the insurance about it!

thanks for that have just sent a email to the one at scarborough , there site says no damage to engine through remap ? didnt you get yours done through them . did yours destroy itself through real hard driving , think might be a bad idea as mines done 197000 miles might be a bit tired
