I think the car comes with an alarm that doesn't have interior volume sensors. This means that the alarm will go off only when car is moved/crashed or any of the doors open. Easy to check if there are sensors in the cabin...Otherwise try shaking the car....

Is there a similar way to convert mine to diesel?

Don't know why, the sysem is not excactly famous for it's reliabillity. Anyway , you can switch it back to Celcius by pushing AUTO and ECON simultaneously (oh what a word this is !!)

I agree with you, you're missing a usefull feature.. but the real problem is the fuel consumption itself !!! I only have the car for a couple of months , (still 700Km on the clock ), and while driven around town she can only run for 400Km. with a full tank. Do you think this is normal ? I would get confused with Miles and Gallons as I'm used to Liters and Kilometers. So my question is : How many Kms. (or Miles) with a full tank ? The car is a 2.3 petrol.

I would understand this...The thing is that those two openings are joined on hte same glass panel which is larger than the sunroof they will not suggest !! And latest news is that they say the "freedome 500" can be fitted on the Mk1 but not the MK2...

An update on this matter... After a carefull reading of the manual : The default setting for the system is ON. Manual says it should be turned off , only when there's a fault. Once you 've turned CC off , will (of course) stay off for as long as the engine is running. When key is removed , your "OFF" setting will be saved for up to two hours (air recycling setting for up to twenty mins.). After this time , the CC wil turn itself on upon starting the car.

Hi all, Does anybody know if the dimentions of the car have remained the same over the years of production ? I'm particularly intrested in the roof area.... Or... can you think of any reason (apart from aircon vents and roof mounted seat belt ) why a sunroof that is recomended for the Mk1 cannot be fitted on the Mk2 ? Your help please !! Thanks

Hello, When I turn engine off, remove key I notice a low noice , something like an electric motor running for quite some time..Don't know excactly for how long and it's definatelly NOT the radiator fan !! It comes from behind the battery compartment I think . Any ideas ? Thanks for your time !!

Hi all !! Sometimes my car's climate control will go on when starting the engine , even when it was previously shut down . Does not happen every time, but it's annoying all the same... I don't suppose this is normal , or is it?

Hi all... Being a Greek, I 'm totally confused with the car licence plates related to the year of manufacture. ie. what year is "s reg",or "x plate". I'm trying to tell if the car in question is a Mk1 or aMk2. Could you give me a general rule how to tell the model year by the plate ? Thanks...javascript:emoticon('B)') smilie
