  1. Well, the A/C condenser is between the grille and the radiator. It would be a bullet rather than a stone if it happened this way , and you would have a leaking condenser as well !!
  2. This is interesting ! Will go out looking for a Blaupunkt, though Pioneer would be my first choice !! Thanks !!!
  3. Hi all... I'm looking to change the factory (crap) radio with a new one that will play mp3, or have an AUX input and better radio reception !! I wouldn't like to loose the ability to use the steering wheel buttons though... Can anybody recommend a stereo that is compatible with the Ford "environment" ? My car is a 2004 Gal. Ghia fitted with the ICE6000rds headunit.
  4. The mounting is definatelly the same, so is the wiring. You have to get the SEAT control switch as well. Also , the new mirrors have to be sprayed to match body colour.
  5. I think Toyota's are much better quality cars than Fords, and the Galaxy is not among the best of the Fords (made in Portugal). Then again you can't drive a car you don't like , just because it was a better deal ! I would go for the Toyota Previa...
  6. Yes I know this allright ! Otherwise my car would be a little cooler...I only mentioned that, according to what I've seen when removing the luggage compartment trims, the back fan draws air from inside the cabin only.Yet again , there might be a air intake somewhere back there that I haven't noticed
  7. Yeh - if the external temp is at 36 C then on a single aircon system the back fan dragging air in from outside wouldn't be helping much!! Thanks for the input. Oggy. I thought the back fan is dragging air from inside the cabin only. Are you sure?
  8. The seats are ecxactly the same.By the way, I haven't been able to remove any of those plastic covers without braking them !! I removed all the armrests when I added the seventh seat to my new Ghia.
  9. Mine (mkII) does not have double climatronic. It's much less efficient than it should. Also the volume of air is not enough. You hear the fan screaming, but you dont feel the air comin out.
  10. Hi Nick ! the dialog box is in German when installing first time (version3) .No prob there. Only thing is the car data cd's I have are not compatible with version 3. When upgrading to 3.13 the dialog box is in English .Final result is icons not present on the main screen
  11. Hi all, I just bought me Elsawin on ebay and I;m having trouble instaling it. Works ok till I try aplying the 3.13 patch. Then i get a runtime error, after installation completes, there are no little icons on the main screen, just the grey elsawin background. Any ideas?
  12. Hi everybody. I recently bought Elsawin on ebay.Tried to install, and things went smooth untill I tried to upgrade to Version 3.13. Then I got a error message saying : RUNTIME ERROR . Programm elsawin.....\LcSrvPas.exe. Abnorman programm termination. The installation continued but then there were no icons on the main programm screen (where you can select service work to be shown), just the gray Elsawin background. Before upgrading to 3.13 software was ok, but I had to patch it, cause car data cd's are not compatible with version3. Any ideas please? Thank you all.
  13. Years in prison: 132 Potential fine:
  14. I 'll go for the same reasons , as most of the forum's members. Wish she was more fuel efficient though... By the way, how do you think tha Gal compares to the Previa ? Anybody owned/ drived one ?
  15. Up to a certain point, I think it's normal... You can't adjust the tailgate using a micrometer. On my car (3 months old ) you can't see the gas-shock "thingie" but the gap is not equal either.
  16. I wouldn't want to be the "bearer of bad news" but it sounds like someone got sick of repairing an ever breaking down CC....
  17. Diesel injectors for the older (not the common rail) engines are definately serviceable !! I have had my Toyota Carina's injectors (needles and housings) changed when 400K on the clock. Can't remember the cost , but was nothin compared to the price for the whole thing changed .Toyota supplied the parts.
  18. My expierience so far is that it's worth doing it if you're sure you have everything you 'll need at hand. Say you have the the front half of a crashed Gal...
  19. Hi . I'm sure you know best, but are you sure you actually have DOUBLE climatronic ? Are there air vents on the roof ? The reason I'm asking is cause car salesmen don't always know (or they don't want YOU to know) what they 're talking about...When I got my car , the dealer would swear it was fitted with double clima (which of course is not the case). So...
  20. Hi , the silver trim plate is secured with (6) plastic clips ...Pry up gently
  21. Dont know how stiff they are , but they look GREAT !!
  22. Well, buying a pair of glasses is a solution, but...those tinting films don't do the trick by their colour. actually there's a little difference in efficiency between the darkest and the lighest one. They have an anti UV layer and even the "clear" one DOES work ! So I thought making this big glass surface in front of me, more heat ressistant would be worth spending some money. Still I wonder. It's not against the law here , but is it safe? Can you think of a reason why it's against the rules in U.K ?
  23. What kind of vibration was that? Did the pedal vibrate while stationary or the function of the clutch was not smooth and the vibration came from the eratic engagement ?
  24. Just checked mine (Continentals) and they're 93W . Is this within the proper load range ? The car (new) came fitted with those , as the original fit Michelins were damage by being flat for months , while the car was in customs area !
  25. Apart from it being legal or not , why would someone not do it ?
