Flashing Red Light On Temp Gauge
strouf replied to boxman32's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Try disconecting the sensor on the expansion bottle. This should stop the light from flashing. Then you know the sensor is faulty. If the light doesn't go off , you 're looking for a wiring problem. -
You are absolutely right, you need to turn the key in order to programm it... I am sorry for giving you the wrong info !! But you still can programm either one of the key features ( engine start or remote lock ).

Seat Belts Worn Out In 12 Months
strouf replied to a topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
have you tried to put them in the other way - its very difficult - picture is a view of the passenger side seat belt clip viewed from the rear right - difficult to show I guess you cant clip the belt with the buckle facing in or out, in your picture it looks as the belt is twisted... So, when resting by the pilar, does the seat belt buckle face upwards ? O.K. looking a bit more closely now, this is how my belt would look when in place..Note that the buckle is biased towards the inside of the car. Shouldn't it be the other way round ? -
Yes, it can be done. You simply programm only the lock-unlock commands.

My car is 5 months old, and I'm thinking of installing a unit that can play mp3 disks. How much would you be willing to offer?

Seat Belts Worn Out In 12 Months
strouf replied to a topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
My car is still very new to tell, but... I think that the 2nd row seat belts are fittet the wrong way. See, the metal buckle that latches to the seat side (slightly inclined ) is facing upwards. So when in place , it is inclined the wrong way , not towards the pillar and the door. Is this how yours is fitted ? -
It will probably work just fine, but you might want to programm it first , at least the locking part , just to be sure!!

Hi all I have converted mine to a 7 seater. You need to buy (of course the seat) four metal brackets and eight plastic things like the ones shown in earlier posts in the thread. The threaded holes are already under the carpet . Then you need to remove the carpet ,cut the equivalent holes and bolt the new seat mountings in place. My car did not have the roof mounted seat belt, so for the time I use the lap belt that came with the extra seat. Soon I 'm going to buy and fit the proper belt. I know the bracket to screw the belt reel is on the roof under the liner, I 'm not sure how I'll be able to modify the roof trim though... Oh I forgot... The seat brackets are easy to remove, you just have to find some suitable plastic covers for the holes in the upholstery, and a torx25 bit with a long 3/8"extension Even if you only want to move the seat tothe 2nd row, you still need to buy the metal brackets that screw on the body floor ,cause the plastic "thingies" secure on them. And you need to have all the holes on the carpet covered . Hope this is not confusing, see my English is not perfect !!

Hi , I was thinking of the Mk2 , the 433 freq. will work. I doubt if there's 433 and 434 freq. keys, probably the exact is 433,9 and it it's reffered as "434" or "433". The tag i was given with my new car displays "433" ....

Powered Rear Qtr Glass
strouf replied to briggd01's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
My car does not have the loom ! But it was ment to be sold in Sweden. How she ended up to Greece , is a mystery !!! -
I know that the VW ,Skoda and Seat flip out keys with two buttons work for sure. Audi key might also work , since they use the same freq. but can't be sure.

Well, I don't see why the fuss ! It's obvious what the car is. The dash picture was put there by mistake, or bacause it was the only availabe around. How could a focus dashboard fit into a Gal ( assuning someone would have the time and reason to attempt it ?
-
Hi ! It can be done easily enough , try searching the forum, there is a thread about it ! I have paid 25 euro for the parts (without the cover itself), and it took me two to three hours.
-
Does this mean, no parking sensors then ??

Hello, Sorry can't help you with the rim specs. But, are you talking about the '06 Galaxy and you're not comfortable with the "emergency" type spare? If you mean the MK2 Gal, any breakers would easily provide a spare...

Hi ! Diesels use the excact same motors. and body differenses are only minor. So I'd say that all three brands are the same ....Seat are a liitle more expensine ,as they come with ESP as standard (MK2). They are all made in Portugal , in the same production line. In Greece , where I live, Seat staff are more helpfull and their parts prices are lower. (..Well, I don't let them know that my car is a Galaxy). Finaly Sharans would be easier to sell ! i

Did you manage to sort the steering wheel problem you had ? I'm trying to find the thread, but I can't !! As for the source of the squeal, it it's the clutch , it will be there when car is stationary (engine running).Goes away when pressing the clutch pedal. -
Well, dual climatronic is an expensive option, so was out of reach for me. Must confess that it's necesary for the size of the Galaxy's cabin. Thank you all for your help. Will keep you posted when I make the change.

Oh, it's a relief to know thr're not riveted or anything ! Ages ago ,I drove a Lancia that had those fixed !! Yes, I know about the trims, fortunately both cars have the same interior colour , so the plastick match. Do you know is the wiring is already there?

Hi everybody ! I want to install the electric rear quarter windows to my Mk2... I have a friend driving an Alhambra fitted with those, who's willing to swap the parts needed (motors, switches, trims ). The windows themselves cannot be swaped because of different colours. So my question is : How do the motors link to the glass ? Is it easy to undo the bracket,(or whatever ) from the glass without damaging (thus need to buy some parts)and reffit it to another window ? Couldn't find anything in TIS and cannot take a look at the car now,as family are away at the beach FOR THE WEEK !!! ...

Hi, sorry to say there is no Aux in !! If you 're thinking of connecting an ipod , you could buy that interface that uses the cd changer input (meaning that the cd changer cannot be used anymore). I think a car radio specialist can modify this input to an Aux input . This is what I was told by an "expert" , but I haven't had the chance to verfy this...

could this be " The Sarge35 " ?

Hello all As you might remember I have unsuccesfully tried to install Elsawin on my computer (and a few others). My problem starts when trying to patch the programm with 3.13 (from3.0) I 'm pretty sure that the cd that was sent to me is not working allright, so I need to get my hands on another Elsawin setup cd. One that is proven to be O.K. Would it be too much to ask somebody of you out there to upload the cd to www.streamload.com or post it to me ? Unfortunatelly the guy I got it from (ebay) will not respond to my mails!! Thanks in advance !

Help ! Coolant Dumped All Over
strouf replied to jkspoff's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
I would say it can be done, but I haven't done the job on a Gal , so I'm only guessing. But I doubt the garage will be wiling to make their work more complicated in order to save you some cash. At least not without charging you ...
