I'm sorry, had no intention of confusing anyone, I thought our radio reception problems were related. Will start a new thread ! -
Radio Reception
strouf replied to Ogben Schmutzel's topic in I.C.E (In Car Entertainment) Discussion
While the experts are here, let me ask a radio related question please ! Do you have any idea why my ice 6000rds is tuning to a different than the chosen freq. for a second or two, and then back to normal? I listen to music, then two seconds of news, then back to music. Is it supposed to be better than this (car is new)or I'm just the lucky one? -
Battery Not Holding It's Charge
strouf replied to greg_68's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Supposing the reason for the car not starting is a dead battery, why bump starting it would make any difference than turning the engine with the starter motor? In both cases the engine will turn for a couple of secs and then start. Am I missing something here ? -
Every tyre manufacturer may use different ways to mark their tyres. "reinforced","extra load", or over 95 is fine.

I have recently bought a new flip blade key from Seat. It looks ecxactly like your old key. The real frequency is 433.92 and is usually reffered as "433". Worked like a charm and cost me 100 -
Have you tried to reprogramm it ?Do you have another key that works ?

O.e Radio Cd Fitment
strouf replied to marinabrid's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Try Seat dealers. The Alhambra comes with a sigle din stereo and a little storage hole between the HU and the CC panel. -
The compressor clutch will not engage , to protect the system from runing without gas. When regassed, it sould be fine .
-
How dare you Alhambra owner, post here ? Using the knowledge too !! java script:emoticon('', 'smid_18') ;)Well, so be it, you 're forgiven...and welcome!!!java script:emoticon(':angry2:', 'smid_18')

It's very unlikely that the spark plug poped out, if it was tighen properly ! Probably it was loose from the beggining. Try spraying (preferably a new plug) with wd40 and see if it can get into place . If it doesn't you need to take cylinder head out ... There are other cheaper and more risky options, like repairing the thread with cyl.head in place and then try to vacuum the aluminum grindings , but this is not recomended...

Ford Radio Adapter Plate For Mk2
strouf replied to a topic in I.C.E (In Car Entertainment) Discussion
Have never seen any of those. I 'm going to buy the Seat bezel, cause Alhambras are fitted with a Din radio. The space between the HU and the CC panel is used as storage box. -
Hello, I'm about to change the headunit for the same (ipod) reason ! I doubt you can connect the cd changer, without one of those expensive adapters you mentioned. But since your new radio will play mp3 and your ipod will be conected to it, why would you need the changer ? I was told that some Pioneer car stereos include adapters to work with factory steering wheel controls. Not really a problem for me though, I always use the controls on the headunit !! Just don't want to have something (steering whell controls) in my car that doesn't work !!! I think I 'll go for a new Pioneer stereo.

Brakes Rubbish At Slow Speeds?
strouf replied to funbus's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
The brakes on mine have the same (good) performance at low and high speed...If you feel there's not enough servo assistance (pedal is hard to push when engine idling, or at low revs) you should check the vacuum hose(s) for air leacks . -
Climate Control Buzzing !
strouf replied to strouf's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Thanks again, it's not the coolant pump, as it stops when the key is removed, and it's not so loud. Will try the cigarette test, though I smoke a cigar every now and then. Let's hope the Missus doesn't find out, or I'm in trouble !!! Greetings recieved , thanks java script:emoticon(':)', 'smid_18') ;) -
Climate Control Buzzing !
strouf replied to strouf's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Thanks everybody, that makes sense...I guess, I should try to clean them...It was definately a dusty hot summer! -
Hi all ! I 've noticed that when the ign. switch is on (regardless of engine running or not ), there is a quiet buzz, (sounds like an electric motor) coming from behind the cc controls ! Turn the key off, it stops. It's not the air blower, it's something much smaller. I'm sure the noise wasn't there last week. Is there any motor in that area ? Or , if not a motor ,any other ideas ?

Flashing Red Light On Temp Gauge
strouf replied to boxman32's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
in that case you can check the expansion tank sensor,by connecting the two leads going to it. If this stops the problem, you know the sensor is faulty. -
