How did you sort the problem in the end as I also have the bag light lot on the dash?

I replaced both struts on mine and cut two thick rubber washers one for either side to sit under the metal top hats to reduce play n thumping from going over sleeping policemen, also when refitting use copper coat grease on all threads n stick a dolop of grease in cap to prevent further rust problems.

Ok just finished yesterday doing a repair on loom mentioned. First a visit to local scrap yard with snips for cable, rip plastic away from rear rhs piller where seat belt connects, cut wire as low as possible and also at top, you now have good wire the same colors code to replace damaged, on your car remove trim on rhs top of rear door, unplug rubber umbilical from both sides, remove seat belt bolt as then piller plastic trim. Strip back loom coating to reveal cable, we now have to remove the damaged cable by cutting out and joining in new section, by either solderimg or the way I did it with good in line crimps, leave extra cable length, tape up on completion. Took me about an hour but would have cost a fortune in a garage, wire cost a quid and now my rear door locks, curtesy lights work and most important my rear wiper works again, dead chuffed!

Do you have a sun roof, if so the pipes that allow water to escape from the leak tray below roof glass may have come off, causing rain water to fill the compartment below front passenger seat where ford in their infinate wisdom put all kinds of very expensive electrical modules n stuff, my 97 2.3 ghia x has the window and central locking one, in a heavy storm it flooded shorted out and all the windows opened lol

Hi, I had my 2.3 converted 5 years ago at a cost of£1.700 which I got back in the first year. It's a prins system and I have had a few problems although not major ish!!! I would not be able to afford to run the old girl otherwise, I would recommend a conversion it pays in the end.

Hi there, did you ever manage to get a pic of the control panel layout? I have a problem with my rear wiper not working and am trying to id which relay is responsible/defective, the Haynes manual is pants as the pic in there does not look like mine (I have a P reg 2.3 Ghia X) so I'am in the process of pulling each relay/fuse to try and create my own ID of each component. If you have had any luck in this area would you mind sharing any info and once I've cracked it I will put on the site for all to use. Cheers Clive
